Chapter 321: Finally
Noah took a moment and looked at his surroundings. And as soon as he saw it, his face went pale in dread. Not one, not two but multiple immortal beastmen were about to fight. Doom would come if that really commenced. He thought back to his mate, she was somewhere out of their reach for now but he could say it with certainty that she was here in the Eagle tribe. Unlike when he felt her pain moments ago through the mate bond, now it was calm. Although he could sense her anxiousness, it was not something extreme. She was not in danger anymore. However, that wouldn’t last long if the current situation continued. If at all a fight occurs between immortals, then he surely wouldn’t be able to keep his mate safe.
He looked at Blake, who had already turned into his beastman form, and sighed in defeat. If even Blake......the most rational and calm amongst them, had lost himself, then there seemed no hope for the others. Victor had already started fighting, and Kaizer looked like he would attack Kyrell any moment now. As for Killian, he seemed too affected by his mate bond with Lyra and seemed unstable. Demir, well he looked pissed. On the other hand, Lucas looked surprisingly calm but that too seemed to have a reason of its own.
"I’m scared, Noah’’ Words left the former’s mouth leaving Noah surprised. Lucas looked ashen with dread filling his face. He turned to Noah and pointed out, "We are her mates, it makes sense that we lose our calm when she is in danger but why is he like that?’’
Noah furrowed his brows in confusion, "Who?’’
"Xavier!’’ Lucas gritted out his words seemingly frustrated, "That Fox king, what the hell does he have to do with our mate? Why is he oozing bloodlust? Noah why.....please tell me this is not what I think’’
Noah was at a loss for words. He turned his attention to Xavier and felt shivers down his spine. Lucas’s words didn’t do justice to what he was seeing. Xavier looked like he would burn everything in his sight, his eyes had turned into a void lacking a soul. Noah had to take a second look to ensure he was not seeing things. The doubts he had buried deep in his heart started to creep out making him horrified. Xavier.....Yes, Xavier had been acting weird when it came to their mate and Noah just pushed it under the rug by not thinking much about it, but it seemed that neglect of his was coming to bite his back at the worst possible time.
"He likes her" Noah spoke truth making Lucas turn to him. The latter frowned in distress and replied, ’’I can see that, you don’t have to tell that to me. It is clear, he likes her’’ his voice turned dull as he went on, "You know, this is not the first time, Noah. Our mate always has someone crazy like this chasing after her time and time again. Blake, Victor, Killian, Demir, Kyrell, I got quite used to it after all of them, but this.....Noah this is wrong. He is the son of a beastman that had wanted to kill our mate’’
Noah blinked, "Yet we are taking his help, we have brought him here to help us find our mate’’
Lucas frowned at his friend’s reply, "Don’t tell me you are in support of this?’’
