Chapter 320: Face off
As soon as the tribesmen finished speaking, Lyra felt dread creeping in. Yes, she was relieved that her mates were here for her but that reason did not stop her from feeling anxious. She worried about their reaction to all that was happening.
According to them, Kyrell had kidnapped her and brought her here by force while he already had a mate. And Lyra had slapped that said mate in the past. That was enough for any mated male to seek revenge. The men here hardly said no to their partner’s wishes. If Alice really wished for Lyra to die, then that was what her mate would do. No matter the consequences.
Not that Kyrell had to worry much about the consequences given his status as a king and immense prowess. With everything analyzed, anyone would think that Lyra was in danger. Much less her worrywart mates.
They already had bad blood with Kyrell. Even when he lived with them, Lyra could see that they didn’t like him that much. Maybe it was because Blake, Victor, Killian, and Demir knew each other and were acquaintances before they met her or because Noah and Lucas too were good friends and didn’t have much problem sharing her. But....Kyrell, he was different and Lyra only now realized how unfair the situation had been for him.
Her poor, precious, and the most lovable boy was suffering, and she turned a blind eye to it, to keep the peace. Whenever her mates distanced themselves from him, she let it slide. She didn’t want to force them into accepting Kyrell, so she stayed silent. If only he had a trusted one to talk to, this matter wouldn’t have escalated so much.
Lyra’s eyes pooled with tears as these thoughts came rushing one after another into her mind while she and Nathan hurried towards the Eagle’s tribe’s border. That was where Kyrell and her mates were fighting each other.
When she reached the place, Lyra stopped in her tracks and her eyes went wide in terror.
