Chapter 256: Alice’s motives
As Lyra’s mates continued to discuss about everything that had happened in the Eagle tribe, back in her room, Lyra was having trouble falling asleep. No matter how much she forced herself to sleep, it didn’t work. She wanted to forget about all the things by falling into deep slumber but it seemed like even that was not easy for her. There was really nothing easy in this beast world. Being constantly kidnapped by Beastmen that came to fancy her was already tiring enough and to top it off, one of the men that had promised to love her has become mates with another female. And that said female even slapped her in warning to stay away from Kyrell.
Lyra would have never tried to seek him if she was in her right state of mind. The shock of Kyrell becoming mates with another female made her irrational for a moment which in turn prompted her to confirm the truth with Kyrell. Her mind had refused to believe what that Eagle tribe’s female said back there but not anymore. Now that her mind was clear enough, she could think more rationally. From now on, Kyrell’s Chapter in her life was done. He was just her past and nothing else. She had better things in her life and wanted to focus on them instead of lamenting on what had already occurred. It was not like she could change things just because she wants to, so taking in a deep breath, she raised herself from the bed and walked towards the balcony.
She covered herself with a thick coat that her mates had specifically designed using bear skin for her to avoid the harsh cold in the Beast world. She couldn’t step out to the balcony due to the snow and could only stay near the fireplace. She settled herself on a rug sprawled near the fire and brought her knees near to her chest and sought of hugged herself while staring at the beautiful snow falling from the sky. The view outside looked magnificent. Trees were covered in clear snow as some of the branches peeked through reminding her of a Christmas tree. That made her spring up from her place. A smile bloomed on her face as she decided to recreate Christmas which she celebrated back in her world.
Her babies would enjoy this and she was sure that her mates too would like it as long as she did something that made her happy. By this, she could preserve and cherish some of the memories she had back on earth. The things back in her world and her parents that took care of her were something she would never be able to forget. She never wanted to forget those precious memories and times she had spent back there. So with her mind made up, she ushered out of the room wanting to discuss this with her mates to only stop when the little snakes blocked her path.
The little snakes had just returned from their hunt with Peter. They got startled when they saw the dangerous stranger inside thier house. And one of the little snakes that had almost lost its eyes due to Kaizer kept on hissing at him gaining others’ attention. The brothers wanted to attack and kill him until they were stooped by their father.
Their father asked them to go inside without causing any commotion. He looked serious and the little snakes knew when to stop and went further inside the castle to find their Mama. And when they found her, all of them rushed towards her.
"My precious little babies’’ Lyra cooed as she lowered herself to the ground before trying to pick them up. She definitely tried but failed because her babies were not little anymore. They were the same size of an adult wild snake and she had a hard time cuddling with them. Nonetheless, her babies helped themselves up her lap before comfortable settling there. Her thought of going to her mates to discuss about celebrating Christmas flew out of the window and instead of that, she turned her full attention to cuddling with her babies. The little snakes were cold to touch but she didn’t let that bother her. Her babies were her priority before everything else.

"Ugh,’’ Kyrell groaned with his eyes still closed. It felt hard for him to even lift a finger. Pain and anguish were the only things he could feel in his body. Paired with that, his head was hurting like it would split in two any moment now. As a last resort in gaining his composure, Kyrell shifted into his beast form. Even the shifting hurt him but he somehow went through it because he would heal faster in his beast form.
