Beauty in the beast world

Chapter 257: His little mate

Alice glared at Kyrell’s sleeping figure for some time before leaving the room. She had many things to think about from now on. Her plans in destroying the Eagle King were not that easy to accomplish. She has to take very careful steps without making a single mistake. Any blunder from her will cause her life and she would regret that. Even in her death, she would not be able to forgive herself if she does not make Kyrell suffer.

And about the wench that had hit her. Alice vowed to get her revenge for the slap that she received. She still couldn’t remove that wench’s haughty gaze from her mind. Wasn’t that bitch so proud of being a Queen? And that too for multiple tribes. Alice couldn’t help but lament about how luck seemed to favor only bad people.

According to Alice, Kyrell’s female was a power-hungry and evil woman. She seduced strong beastmen who held high authority in the beast city only to become a queen of all of her mates’ tribes. That was very smart of her and Alice had to admit Lyra did something any other female with ambitions would do in the beast world.

To hold some kind of power, females were supposed to mate with the strong and Lyra did just that. Alice applauded the former for that.

Whereas Alice herself never thought about doing it because Continuing to stay alive was such a chore after her brother’s death and her mother’s deteriorating health. She was already having a hard time mating with the ones she was obligated to and had no motivation in seducing a stronger beastman or a king of a certain tribe. She never even had a thought of doing something like that.

But staying like that was not possible anymore. She has to get someone by her side to get her revenge. Someone strong....." Are any of the kings mateless in the beast city?" she asked while sitting on the seat opposite her father. Now she was inside her father’s room.

Elder Edgar took his time to observe every change of expression on his daughter’s face. There was desperation in her gaze as she waited for his answer. All of this was his fault. He should have never asked his daughter to move back to the Eagle tribe. After his mate’s health went down, he drowned himself in his own sorrow forgetting his daughter who was also suffering with him. He let her stay in another tribe in order to keep her safe from the late King and only learned about her isolation after years. And by the time, he reached there, his daughter had changed. Her cherry self and pure smile were replaced with nothing but aloofness.

Nothing kept her interested. Not the males he selected for her or her life. Edgar only ever saw his daughter react when she met her ill mother. Even then, Alice shed tears, and nothing else. She didn’t even talk to her mother.

Edgar regretted his decision in distancing himself from his daughter in the past and wanted to somehow make up for it. Seeing his daughter go through the path of revenge didn’t sit well with him, "You do not need to do this, Alice"
