Chapter 156: Bitter past
"I have returned uncle," he said while stepping towards the ice boulder.
The room he was currently standing in was induced with ice magic. And the one who created this space was Xavier himself.
Xavier was merely five years when his father forced him to create this place. His powers were not yet manifested then due to his young age, but that didn’t stop his father from pushing him over his limits. Well, Xavier owed his father because....he forced himself to stop thinking about his wretched past.
He took a deep breath and went back to see his uncle’s lifeless body. Due to the magic, his uncle looked like he was merely sleeping and would wake up the next moment.
"Is this the life you wish for uncle?" Xavier couldn’t help but ask this question. He knew very little about Henrick’s death. He just recalled the huge commotion breaking out in the tribe and suddenly his uncle and grandfather returned dead. His father said that someone from the eagle tribe killed his grandfather but said nothing about Henrick.
His father would get into a raging fit if someone asked him about how his uncle died.
The late fox king was strangely obsessed with bringing his uncle back to life but Xavier could attest that his uncle would not appreciate this. It was a disrespect shown towards a warrior like his uncle to not let him rest in peace.
Xavier was close to his uncle when he was younger. Henrick was the only person he talked to and shared his worries with because even his own mother left him in this tribe after giving birth to him and his father loathed the mere fact of him being born.
Yes, his birth mother was not his father’s mate and Lexi’s mother but someone else. This truth was buried to not let other tribes find out. In the beast world, a male is supposed to have only one mate and their mark appeared on only one female’s body. They are loyal and devoted to only her. This was also the case with his father until his mother.....forced herself on him.
