Lilith felt as if she’d been struck by lightning.
The news hit her so hard she had to draw a sharp breath. No, one wasn’t enough… another! It was only then that her brain finally rebooted from the crash caused by sheer shock.
“W-W-W-What… what did you just say?”
“Ugh, stop playing.” Lesiah shot her a reproachful look. “Don’t make me repeat something like that, okay?”
“N-No… no, I mean… how could… how could I…” Lilith stammered incoherently before finally bursting into non-existent tears.
“I didn’t even have the *tool*! How could I possibly…”
“So, you’re trying to dodge responsibility now?”
Lesiah’s coy smile vanished in an instant. From somewhere, she pulled out a gleaming cleaver and waved it lazily in front of Lilith’s face.
“Well, I can understand why. People panic when they hear news like this. It’s a rite of passage, right?”
*N-N-No, that doesn’t sound like you understand at all! You look like you’re about to cut me in half if I say something wrong next!*
“Um… let’s talk through this calmly. Something like this needs proof, right? You can’t just say it’s mine. I mean, I’m still innocent!”
“Proof? Isn’t this enough?” Lesiah pointed at her belly.
