Chapter 109 - The True Potential of High-Level Magic
POV: Lilia Greyrat
Almost four weeks had passed since we arrived at the capital of the Kingdom of the Dragon King, and despite the relative calm we experienced, a persistent, slight worry hammered at my mind.
And it was about the mercenary group known as the Storm of Tyranny. The group that had ambushed and attempted to kill Rygar.
I tried to push those thoughts away whenever they arose, but they returned like an insistent tide. However, I did not dare to speak of it, for various reasons...
Four of them had escaped.
Among those four, two were mages who could use magic without incantation. A small boy and a small girl with an elfin appearance.
Just thinking about it made my chest tighten. The similarities were alarming. Could they be... Rudeus and Sylphy?
It was an absurd possibility. Even so, the thought would not leave me in peace.
I spent hours and hours pondering, trying to find a more rational explanation. Magic without incantation, for example.
In the past, I considered it a rare ability, something almost miraculous. But now... it was not quite so. Many of Rygar's subordinates could use it.
That had made the image of magic without incantation more common, demystifying that unique ability I once thought so rare. With that in mind, it was not impossible that two independent mages might also possess it.
