Once again, the capital appeared on the horizon—a cluster of imposing buildings surrounded by high walls and bustling with people of different races and occupations.
Rygar felt a tightening in his chest, a mixture of anticipation and excitement.
The mating season was coming to an end; technically, that meant there was still time for Rygar to challenge Ghislaine, but honestly, that mattered little to him.
In his tribe, it was more culturally acceptable to challenge one's intended partner only during the mating season, and many had sex only at that time.
But Rygar came from modern Earth society; he knew he would probably feel a strong sexual desire with his current body. Since he was only 12 and already having trouble with it, he was sure he wouldn't hold back with Ghislaine — who was always showing off her body.
It might seem a bit arrogant, but he was certain he would win; even without using magic, he was sure he could defeat Ghislaine.
He crossed the city gates without difficulty; the guards, upon recognizing him, merely exchanged glances and waved in permission.
As he walked through the streets, he noticed the stares around him.
Many recognized him—some with respect, others with admiration, and a few with a hint of fear.
King Leonard had done an excellent marketing job; he had spread word everywhere about Rygar's contributions in ending the "rebellion" that had occurred in the Kingdom of the Dragon King, and he associated that with the Iron Legion, so that his name, Rygar Adoldia, became increasingly well known in the Kingdom of the Dragon King.
Without lingering, he proceeded to his temporary home.
