Chapter 132: Obessesion
Remo’s brow furrowed with suspicion, his protective instincts kicking into high gear at the thought of leaving Cage alone with Abby.
He didn’t want to risk anything, especially given the fragile state Abby was in after her recent ordeal.
"I’m not sure about that," Remo replied, his voice tinged with reluctance. "I’d prefer to stay here with Abby."
Cage nodded understandingly, his expression remaining calm despite Remo’s hesitation. "I understand your concern, Remo," he said, his tone reassuring. "But I promise it won’t take long. There’s something important I need to discuss with Abby."
Remo glanced at Abby, silently seeking her opinion. Abby met his gaze with a reassuring smile, her eyes filled with trust and understanding. "It’s okay, Remo," she said softly. "I’ll be fine."
Reluctantly, Remo acquiesced, his gaze lingering on
Abby for a moment longer before he nodded his consent. "Alright," he relented, his voice tinged with apprehension. "But I’ll be right outside if you need anything."
"You finally got him, huh?" Cage remarked once Remo left the room, his tone laced with a mixture of amusement and skepticism. Abby’s heart sank at his words, her body tensing with guilt as she braced herself for what was to come.
Abby’s eyes flickered with unease as Cage approached, his presence looming over her like a dark cloud. She swallowed hard, her throat suddenly dry as she struggled to find the right words to defend herself.
