Chapter 131: Cage
The day after Abby woke up, the sun streamed through the hospital window, casting a warm glow over the room. Abby blinked against the brightness, her eyes adjusting to the light as she took in her surroundings. Remo was sitting by her bedside, his presence a comforting anchor amidst the unfamiliarity of the hospital room.
"How are you feeling today?" Remo asked, his voice soft with concern as he reached out to brush a stray lock of hair away from Abby’s face.
Abby offered him a weak smile, grateful for his unwavering support. "Better," she replied, her voice still hoarse from days of disuse. "A little sore, but better."
Remo nodded, his eyes filled with relief. "That’s good to hear," he said, his hand finding hers and giving it a gentle squeeze. "The doctor said you’re making good progress."
As they talked, there was a sudden knock at the door, breaking the peaceful atmosphere of the room. Remo got up to answer it, and Abby watched as a man entered, wearing a nose mask and a cap. She furrowed her brows in confusion, wondering who he could be.
Once inside, the man removed his mask and cap, revealing his handsome features to the room. He had striking eyes the color of stormy skies, a chiseled jawline, and a smile that exuded confidence.
Abby’s breath caught in her throat as recognition dawned on her. "Cage," she whispered, her voice barely above a hoarse whisper.
Cage’s gaze swept over Abby, a fleeting of emotions crossing his face before he walked towards her and pulled her into a hug. The embrace was intimate, too intimate for Remo’s liking, and jealousy surged within him as he watched them.
"I was afraid I had lost you, sugar," Cage murmured, his voice filled with genuine concern as he held Abby close.
