Chapter 6: Weapon Choice
Hearing Shaan’s words, the officer immediately helped Shaan out of the Astral Capsule. He directed Shaan to one of the chairs in the room and then picked up a bottle of water to give to Shaan.
"Here. Drink it and calm yourself down. Bonding with astral beings is not an easy thing."
’Yes, I agree. Thank you." Shaan uncorked the bottle and gulped it down. "Ah, at least now I have created a bond with my daemon."
"Good, your first session has been completed, and we will continue with the second session, which is choosing the weapon to use," said the officer, pointing his finger at another door not far from his position. "That door. It connects to the corridor leading to the equipment room. Along that corridor, you will be able to see a variety of weapons that you might want to consider when choosing which weapon to use."
"Alright, I understand. Thank you."
"However, before you leave this room, I have something to give you."
The officer then took something out of his pocket. At first glance, Shaan thought that it might be the same digital clock that Jack’s friends used to wear around school. However, for some reason, it didn’t show any numbers or anything like that, just some colorful meter lines like a traffic light.
"Wait, what is this thing?"
"This thing is called an Insanmeter. It’s a digital clock-like object created by the Prometheon tech company that is used to keep Amateur Daemonists from reaching the insanity level at the madness stage. It is made of a special material that is resistant to all impacts, and this object will be released when the Daemonist can control his power and insanity level."
Shaan furrowed his brow. "But, how does this thing work?
