Chapter 5: Bond
"The power of the seven virtues?" asked a brown-haired woman. "What are those powers?"
"That’s right. The seven powers of virtue are also called the enigma. It consists of: Patience, Charity, Wisdom, honesty, self-control, and honor," he said as he pointed his index finger at each of the pictures on each door. "These seven powers are symbolized by different symbols: Patience symbol of hourglass, Charity symbol of heart, Wisdom symbol of book, Honesty symbol of balance scale, self-control symbol of water drop, and Honor symbol of crown. Each of these seven enigmas has its astral creature called a Daemon. These Daemons will help the Daemonist to defeat the creatures of darkness that emerge from within the midnight-gate."
"But, how do we summon Daemons to help us fight against the creatures of darkness?" asked a silver-haired man in the crowd.
"Bond. You should have a strong bond with your daemon. To strengthen your bond with your daemon, you must frequently interact and communicate with it. There are several ways you can do this, which are: Fight together with your Daemon inside the Midnight gate, Mind link, or get special items that can increase your Daemon bond. These items can usually only be found inside certain Midnight gates."
"Mind Link?" The silver-haired man furrowed his brow. "What is that? I’ve never heard of it at all."
"Mind Link is a verbal communication ability that a Daemonist can have with their daemon through telepathy, no matter where they are. By using mind link, the Daemonist will better understand the condition of his daemon to strengthen the bond without having to physically meet."
’Interesting, so even though I’m already outside of the Midnight portal, I still can communicate with my Daemon. Quite an interesting method.’
"However, building a strong Mind link requires a high level of concentration and a strong physique from the Daemonist," Mr. Luis explained. "Is there any other questions?"
"What about the insanity level? When I first opened my status windows, the insanity level only reached 99%. What will happen if the insanity level reaches 100%?" asked Shaan curiously.
Hearing Shaan’s question, Mr. Luis was silent for a moment. "Good, very good question. I don’t think anyone would pay attention to that at all," he smiled. "If your insanity level reaches 100%, then your Daemon will lose control and may kill you."
