Chapter 67
Tae-seo’s conversation with Chairman Kang Hak-jung stretched late into the evening. When Tae-seo clung to him, insisting that they should eat dinner together, the chairman eventually relented, pretending to be reluctant. As a result, only the secretaries had to scramble to adjust the schedule.
Even after dinner, time slipped away, and when Kang Hak-jung finally stood up to leave, Tae-seo trailed behind him closely, unwilling to let him go.
"My grandsons are all quiet and dull, but you..."
Tae-seo’s eyes sparkled with anticipation, wondering what the chairman was about to say. He had kept the old man engaged in conversation for hours, and yet, Kang Hak-jung had listened without once cutting him off.
"There’s never a dull moment with you."
"Can I take that as a compliment? I had a great time too. Honestly, I’m not usually this talkative. But for some reason, being around you makes me want to talk more."
Tae-seo spoke rapidly, leaving no room for breath, and Kang Hak-jung couldn’t help but laugh. After only a few hours together, this boy was already acting more affectionate than his own grandson. He couldn’t possibly dislike him.
"I’ll come again tomorrow."
"Tomorrow?"
Tae-seo blinked in surprise at the chairman’s unexpected remark. The atmosphere suddenly shifted as if he had just asked something ridiculous. Realizing the misunderstanding, Tae-seo quickly waved his hands.
"Oh, no, it’s not that! I’m being discharged tomorrow. So next time, I’ll come visit you instead. I’m sorry I haven’t come to see you first."
"Just focus on your own health."
