Jin Gyu-min's eyes swept over Kang Se-heon from head to toe. Ever since Se-heon had readily agreed to meet, suspicions had continuously surfaced and subsided in his mind. Why would he respond to my message so easily? Or maybe, I just happened to catch him at the right moment when he needed an excuse to leave somewhere.
“If you’re just going to stare, I’m leaving.”
Kang Se-heon placed his phone on the table as he spoke.
“Be honest. Where are you coming from?”
“A gathering.”
“What kind of gathering? Ah...”
Jin Gyu-min had been about to ask for details but quickly nodded in understanding. There was one gathering Se-heon attended regularly but never seemed particularly eager about.
“I read online that President Kang Su-hak went to the supermarket branch.”
Jin Gyu-min recalled an article he had come across. Seeing that Se-heon didn’t deny it, he clicked his tongue.
Even in small family-run businesses, money was enough to cause discord. For a major conglomerate, the stakes were even higher. The current KH Group chairman had only two sons. If both had been equally capable, they could have each taken charge of a solid subsidiary. However, while the eldest was exceptionally competent, the younger son had never quite measured up.
Now that the corporate reshuffling had taken place, the difference in their assigned roles was glaring, and it was clear that the impact would reach Se-heon as well.
“That must be uncomfortable for you.”
