Chapter 701.Entering the Chaotic Region of the Universe.
The moment Kailen went through the barrier, he appeared in a very unfamiliar place. For some reason, he felt like he was extremely far away from the Light region of the universe. He scanned the surroundings. The atmosphere seemed very dense and quiet. There were several celestial bodies in the vicinity.
"So this is the Chaotic region of the universe." Kailen smiled. "I need to find a place with sentient life and find more information about where I am."
Kailen floated across the void for a year. He traversed across the expanse, coming across several celestial bodies. He had not come across any life so far. Kailen asked the Will of the Universe a question.
"Golden Finger, does the principle of space, gravity, and darkness have an advantage over other principles? Like, let’s say, can a rank 1 novice-stage Transcendent-level lifeform cross blows with a rank 4 novice-stage Transcendent-level lifeform?"
The Will of the Universe answered Kailen through thought transmission.
"No. At the Transcendent level, there’s nothing like a special principle. All principles operate at the same level at the same rank. What separates one from others is how deep your comprehension of your principle is, even at the same rank. Let’s say we have two rank 1 novice-stage Transcendent-level powerhouses. One has the principle of space. The other has the principle of fire. If the one with the principle of fire has a more profound comprehension of the principle of fire than the one with the principle of space, he can trash the one with the principle of space around."
Kailen nodded in understanding. It seemed it was really an ironclad rule that at the Transcendent level, comprehension of one’s principle was everything.
Very soon, Kailen came across several ships floating in the void. "Finally..." He had finally come across sentient life. However, he needed to be careful. He didn’t know where he was or who the people in the spaceship were. It would be careless to rush towards them. He was currently weak. He was just at the rank 1 novice-stage Transcendent level. He could be killed without knowing how he died if he was careless.
The ships had a very different design compared to those of the Light region of the universe. They looked like futuristic versions of airships. All the spaceships were headed towards a particular place. Kailen decided to follow them from a distance.
"I could be wrong, but these spaceships must be headed towards some place for some sort of event," Kailen thought.
After four months of slowly following the spaceships, several more joined the fleet Kailen was following from several light-years away. Kailen realized his speculation could be spot on. "All the same, they could be headed towards some empire, sect, or academy. I just have to follow them to get to where they are going."
"Can I still use Emotional Resonance?" Kailen asked the Will of the Universe.
"Emotional Resonance has nothing to do with awakener ranks. It’s an ability you obtained that helps you read the emotions of people from their facial expressions. Beings at the Transcendent level still have emotions; they are sentient, and they show facial expressions."
Kailen nodded. It could be used. At least he could avoid being deceived by anyone, and he could handle certain situations through... unconventional methods.
Very soon, a very large planet the size of ten stars came into view. The planet was extremely large. Kailen was stunned. How could a planet be so large? He reminded himself that this was the Chaotic region of the universe. He had to see things differently. As he followed the spaceships from several light-years away and approached the planet, it only became larger.
Very soon, the ships parked at the docks of the planet. Several Transcendents came out of the ships. They were welcomed respectfully by certain people at the docks and led away. Those who welcomed them turned to look at the ships and waved their hands. The ships disappeared—possibly into the secret realm of the person who had invited them over.
Kailen approached the docks. Several individuals could be seen there. They were in some sort of uniform with an insignia on it. Kailen did not know their level. But their demeanor and confidence were a testament that they had the power to back it up. After all, no one who has become a Transcendent could be underestimated.
"State your business," one of the officers at the docks asked. A glint flashed through his eyes. "This fellow seems very weak", he thought as he looked at Kailen.
Kailen observed him with Emotional Resonance. He knew the fellow’s thoughts. "A proud one. I feed his ego and he will let me pass. That could be my only way into this planet. From his expression, I don’t really think I’m in his good graces in the first place," Kailen thought.
Kailen kowtowed on the ground without hesitation. "Esteemed Senior. This junior humbly seeks entry access. I am a weak person who humbly wants to further my cultivation. Although I may never get to the level of the Esteemed Senior, I do not want to give up, as I look up to Senior very much."
The fellow’s eyes revealed a trace of satisfaction. "This fellow may be weak, and I could just deny him entry into the city. But he seems genuine. Forget it, he lifted my mood. Let me let him in", the officer thought.
"Boy, I’m in a good mood today. So scurry off before I change my mind."
A glint flashed through Kailen’s eyes, a light smirk tugging at the edge of his lips. He kept up his act, kowtowing once again. "Thank you, Senior!"
Quickly, his figure flashed as he was allowed entry into the city. As he left the docks, what greeted him was a very bustling metropolis. Several Transcendents were floating everywhere. Individuals of different races could be seen walking around.
"This is definitely one of the cities on this large planet. Clearly, this is some sort of empire. I need to find an accommodation. The problem is I don’t know what resource they use for transactions."
Kailen heard a group of people walking past him having a conversation as he was seated on a street bench at a park.
"I really needed those gold coins. I wanted to hire a rank 3 novice-stage light Transcendent to heal my injuries."
"Hah. I tell you, that mission was really difficult. Forget it, let’s report to the guild."
A glint flashed through Kailen’s eyes. "They make transactions in gold coins. Taking on guild missions is a way to get gold coins? I suppose by joining a guild and taking on a mission, I could earn some gold and find a decent place to settle. Then we will take things from there."
Kailen followed the duo conversing from a distance. It was time to join a guild.
