Chapter 136: CH 136: Master Swordsman vs Skilled Swordsman (MUC4)
As Dave transported everyone, including the beasts, into his void space, he sprinted towards the gate with a singular focus. His movements were swift and decisive, leaving no room for escape. He positioned himself firmly in front of Kim Hyun, blocking the man’s path.
Kim Hyun’s eyes widened in confusion as he took in the sudden change in surroundings. One moment, he was surrounded by chaos and panic; the next, he was face-to-face with Dave, who he thought to have seemingly teleported from behind him to his front.
"What is going on?" Kim Hyun’s mind reeled with questions, but Dave’s expression was resolute.
"Let’s settle this matter, once and for all," Dave said, his gaze locking onto Kim Hyun’s with an unyielding intensity.
Kim Hyun’s confusion gave way to a calculating glint in his eye. "Sure, I don’t know what you did to the people and to the beasts, but now that it’s just me and you, let’s settle this matter between us," he said, his hand reaching for the sword he had kept beside him. The blade glinted in the dim light as he unsheathed it, his grip firm and confident.
Dave mirrored Kim Hyun’s movement, summoning a sword from his void space into his hand. The weight of the hilt was felt in his hands as his fingers wrapped around it with a practiced ease. "Then," he said, his voice steady, "may the strongest man win."
Without another word, the two men charged at each other, their swords at the ready. The clash of steel on steel echoed through the air as they met in a flurry of strikes and parries.
Dave’s speed and agility allowed him to dodge and weave around Kim Hyun’s attacks, but instead of exploiting his advantage, he chose to engage Kim Hyun in a test of swordsmanship only.
Kim Hyun, a master swordsman, unleashed a flurry of strikes, each one aimed at exploiting Dave’s defenses. Dave, however, proved to be a worthy opponent, his swordsmanship skill honed to perfection as he parried and riposted with ease.
The two swordsmen danced across the battlefield, their blades flashing in the dim light. Kim Hyun’s sword sliced through the air, its edge biting deep into the space where Dave had stood mere moments before. Dave, anticipating the attack, had already sidestepped, his own sword slicing towards Kim Hyun’s exposed flank.
Kim Hyun, however, was no novice. He twisted his body, avoiding the attack by a hair’s breadth, and counterattacked with a powerful strike. Dave met the blade with his own, the two swords clashing in a shower of sparks. The force of the impact sent shockwaves through both men’s arms, but neither gave an inch.
