Chapter 135: CH 135: Darkness (MUC3)
As the people transported by Dave materialized in the dark area, they stumbled and staggered, disoriented by the sudden change in surroundings. One moment, they were on the brink of disaster, the sound of the ticking bomb still echoing in their minds; the next, they found themselves enveloped in an oppressive darkness. The air was thick with the scent of nothingness, and the silence was almost palpable.
As their eyes adjusted to the dim surrounding, they discovered that they were not alone. Many others were scattered around them, as they could hear movements and grunts from each other. The darkness seemed to swallow everything, making it impossible to discern any features of their surroundings.
"Are we dead?" someone whispered, their voice trembling. "Is this the afterlife?"
Another voice chimed in, laced with skepticism. "If this is the afterlife, then what I heard were all lies." The murmurs grew louder, with some speculating about their fate.
"Perhaps this is hell," a deep voice suggested, "but there’s no fire."
A woman’s voice cut through the din, her tone laced with fear. "Does this mean we were killed? Did the bomb really went off and killed every one of us?"
The question bugged down on many, and soon, voices were raised in anger and frustration. "If so, then where’s that bastard that set the bomb?" someone growled. "The bomb must have killed him too, right? Where’s Kim Hyun?"
The darkness seemed to amplify their voices, making it seem like their words were swallowed by the void. As they called out for answers, their collective fear and anger hung in the air, a palpable force that threatened to overwhelm them.
Another one of the individuals snarled, their voice laced with venom. "Are you keeping quiet so we won’t know you are here? Huh? Kim Hyun? Speak up, you bastard!" The words hung in the air, met with an oppressive silence.
