The Great Composite Bloodline
“Seems like it was a success! This is incredible! To think that the day has come… Though it looks like the assimilation isn’t quite complete just yet. I suppose that a little bit more time is required for it to… Ferment, I guess we could say”
Eltysia was all smiles. Edrick could see her kicking her feet in the air beneath the blanket covering her. She snapped her fingers, and a large doorway off to the right of this room was suddenly illuminated.
She pointed to it.
“Go and rest for a while. It is preferable that the process of acclimation is complete before we get into the ‘serious business’, if you get what I mean~ I promise that you won't find it disappointing. You seem to be quite the promiscuous adventurer, but I am certain that you’ve never had a woman like me”
Anoteros was uncertain of what exactly she was referring to. Was it the fact that she was a sapient, thinking realm? Or was it simply about what she truly looked like underneath that sheet she was always covered with?
From what little he had seen of her, Eltysia was definitely a stunning woman with an interesting eye colour… It certainly made the scion curious as to what else was to be uncovered.
For now, however, he followed her advice and walked into the room she was pointing to. Turns out, it was a rather spacious and luxurious bedroom, seeming to feature traits of all the civilisations her created species had built.
In total, she had willed into existence four species–And using two of those as material, she had manifested the Blutgar… The Red Guardian was a unique being that she had probably either not been all that content with, deciding to leave it as just a single individual, or a creation she was somehow unable to duplicate.
In any case, Eltysia had made it clear that she had never grown bored of the concept of creating species. However, this ability had seemingly only been available in the past, before the realm had reached maturity and settled into what it is today. This had left her with only her latest creations: The Blutgar and the Underwood Elves.
Otherwise, it is likely that they, too, would have been replaced with something new eventually.
Whether mating with Edrick would actually allow her to weave new life was unclear, but right now, Anoteros was more interested in his gains as a result of this whole operation.
He had already seen what his new and improved skeleton had to offer... So now was the time to pay a closer look at the new bloodline, as well as the various other bloodlines it had been made from to begin with…
First of all, he already knew what the Underwood Elf Champion Bloodline had to offer, having obtained it from the system before this whole debacle. However, he had seemingly obtained it a second time and thus further refined it. Though it did not seem like this resulted in any additional traits or boons... It was simply an overall improvement, which was still very much welcome and appreciated.
Underblood Elf Champion Bloodline - Grants One The Ability To Reproduce With Underblood Elves. Allows One To Imbue Underblood Elf Blood At The Moment Of Impregnation. Grants One An Innate Ability To Interact With Blood Rituals. Allows For Body Marks To Be Changed. Allows One To Transform Into An Underblood Elf Champion
All of the ‘champion’ bloodlines were structured in the same manner.
First, they allowed for reproduction with the named species, and also to impart traits of the species into his offspring–Which was a standard bloodline bonus as far as he was aware. His other bloodlines offered the exact same things… Of course, there was also the transformation abilities the champion bloodlines granted–All of which he would have to check out individually.
The more important parts were the specific abilities they each granted… In the case of the Underblood Elf Champion Bloodline, it was all about interaction with ‘blood rituals’ and changing ‘body marks’. Edrick frankly had no idea what any of this meant.
Sticking ‘blood’ in front of the word ‘ritual’ didn’t say much at all. As far as he was aware, ritual was a word that could refer to a particular kind of way of power... But to be perfectly honest, with how people in this world tend to toss around words without regard to official appellations or proper definitions, a blood ritual could be about a thousand different things.
In this case, however, the scion presumed that the blood rituals and body marks referred to a specific practice of the Underblood Elves, rather than something more widely known. Thus, he would probably need to obtain the knowledge of this civilisation to make use of its abilities.
Undersky Elf Champion Bloodline - Grants One The Ability To Reproduce With Undersky Elves. Allows One To Imbue Undersky Elf Blood At The Moment Of Impregnation. Grants One An Innate Ability To Improve Land Fertility. Allows One To Transform Into An Undersky Elf Champion
This one was much simpler to understand. It seemed to be an ability that could be used whenever. It also told of the fact that Undersky Elves had not been warriors or hunters at all–But farmers. They were definitely the ones who had lived in villages like the one Edrick had explored in the past.
Blutgar Champion Bloodline - Grants One The Ability To Reproduce With Blutgars. Allows One To Imbue Blutgar Blood At The Moment Of Impregnation. Grants One An Innate Ability To Wield Ambient Energy. Allows One To Transform Into A Blutgar Champion
This one was also straightforward, and also expected considering that manipulating ambient energy was kind of the main schtick of the Red Guardian… Anoteros assumed that the transformation would also include the Blutgar’s own transformation into a crimson beast.
Though Edrick was uncertain how it would work, a transformation layered on top of another transformation? It sounded a bit unstable just thinking about it…
Baumsaftgar Champion Bloodline - Grants One The Ability To Reproduce With Baumsaftgars. Allows One To Imbue Baumsaftgar Blood At The Moment Of Impregnation. Grants One An Innate Tribal Ability. Allows One To Transform Into A Baumsaftgar Champion
This one was a bit like the Underblood Elf bloodline. The ability it provided wasn’t clear, and it didn’t help that the noble had no idea what Baumsaftgars were like. They had been described as plains savages, which fitted with the concept of a tribal ability, but did nothing to explain what said ability might be about…
…Lastly…
True Champion Of Eltysia Bloodline - Grants One The Ability To Reproduce With All Beings Indigenous To Eltysia. Allows One To imbue Blood Of The Bloodlines Making This One Up At The Moment Of Impregnation. Grants One All Innate Abilities Of The Bloodlines Making This One Up. Allows One To Transform Into Champion Variants Of Any Creature Indigenous To Eltysia When Inside The Realm. Makes One Eligible To Take Over The Realm
This was the actual bloodline he currently owned–Holding within it all the boons granted by all of the previously mentioned ones, but with its own additions as well. Namely, it allowed Edrick to reproduce with all native beings to Eltysia, and to take their form when inside the realm… But more importantly, the last eight words meant a lot. Edrick didn’t know whether it was always supposed to have this effect, or if it had been brought out by the system’s intervention, but it was a much-welcomed aspect.
It seemed like Edrick was destined to take ownership of Eltysia no matter what.
