In This Rebirth, The Male Lead Is Mine [BL]

Chapter 230: Return Again (4)

Rise always believed and trusted Kamille with his life. However, at this moment, he was too dumbfounded to even consider the idea.

How come he was... Riri’s mother?

Was this still reality?

Kamille had expected his reaction. His first reaction was not that different either. This was something neither of them considered.

Once a few minutes had passed, Rise had processed it somewhat, but his expression remained complicated. He glanced at Riri, who was watching them cluelessly.

Looking at him, Rise could not say he was against this. It was just that it was practically impossible to... be Riri’s ’mother’.

As far as he knew, he could not give birth. Or was he?

Suddenly, he was not sure.

Kamille sighed slightly, finally relieved that Rise had calmed down.

He reached out and held Rise’s hand. Based on the other’s expressions, he could discern most of his thoughts.

"I don’t think you... gave birth normally." Kamille rarely stumbles over his words, and this was definitely one of those cases.

Rise’s lips twitched slightly; he did not know if he should laugh or what. This was genuinely crazy if you thought about it.

He was open-minded and pretty easy-going too... But this was different.

Still...

"Maybe?" Rise could only agree. After all, Riri was here, and they did not even know how he came to be. "Then from which reset did Riri come from? And how he got here?"

These were necessary questions. Obviously, Riri could not possibly be from their version.

They were under the assumption that everything resets to start after the book ends, or if something happened halfway and was forced to reset.

Then, how come they managed to leave behind Riri? Moreover, he was reminded of that incident in the mutated gate where they encountered the memory Kamille, who managed to exploit a loophole.

Was it the same for Riri?

Rise’s questions, neither could answer them. What else could they do besides speculate?

"Still, I can’t imagine it." Rise never even thought of that possibility before.

Both stared at Riri, who became conscious because of their attention. He lowered his gaze, his face blushing. Rise could not help but smile at how cute he was.

The corner of Kamille’s lips curled as a result.

Something, though, he could not deny was that he was genuinely fond of Riri. Whether he was their biological son or not.

Rise pinched Riri’s small hand on his own.

"But why is Riri a monster? I mean, do nobles give birth to monsters?"

This point he could not comprehend.

Kamille was not certain about that. There was no doubt about the blood connection between them. However, Riri being a different species was bizarre.

Or something happened after a human and noble conceived a descendant? The method of birth was also something he had to consider, which, unfortunately, they were not sure of at this time.

It could also be how Riri was maintained through resets.

There were a lot of possibilities. Kamille and Rise might not be able to know the real answer. Or someday, it would show itself.

For now, Rise could only marvel at the fact that he and his guild leader somehow had a son. How ridiculous was that?

Rise could not help but laugh, then it turned louder. The father and son looked at him first before they too were infected and laughed with him.

Riri could not understand their conversation but sensed that it was related to him. Kamille and Rise did not reveal it to him for now.

After all, Riri did not even know the concept of parents or family. Slowly, once he comprehended them, it would then be possible to reveal them to him.

Doing so now might create confusion.

Moreover, Kamille and Rise did not know how to explain it either.

Rise wanted Kamille to stay, but they had their plans, and so they could not be seen together. For now, his father might become confused if he suddenly saw Kamille.

Imagining his reaction would be hilarious, yet he could not risk their plans falling through for that. Soon, once some things were confirmed, he could interact with Kamille in a different identity.

Rise could not be the Rise of the Dark Crimson Guild.

The Union and those involved were in an uproar about the otherworld. Those were not Rise’s concern anymore.

He just got back, and he decided to contact his little subordinates to have a good clean-up for their information network.

This time, expanding on a larger scale.

Kamille had not returned yet to the Dark Crimson Guild headquarters, but had his own plans as well.

While the two were preparing for the situation, somewhere in this world, a change was happening.

In a C-rank gate.

A group of six espers and two guides was currently raiding the gate. They came from a small local guild with only 50 members and had an opportunity to acquire the rights for this C-rank gate.

The spoils in this gate might not be much for larger or even medium-sized guilds, but for them, it was definitely enough to pay the bills.

"Those guys are lucky enough to be invited to the guild convention. I’m so jealous." One Esper could not help but exclaim as they were packing some monster hides.

"Are you talking about Argen Guild?"

"Who else?"

"Stop talking. Their guild leader managed to invite an A-rank guide. Of course, they are now on another level compared to us."

It might sound depressing, but that was the truth. In this world, strength ruled all, and without it, they could not expect to be treated fairly.

"Still," the other grumbled. "You’re better than their guild leader."

The Guild Leader laughed. Although he knew that his guild member was only talking bullshit, who did not want to be complimented?

"Now, stop talking and let’s continue!"

The others yelled, and they renewed their steps.

This C-rank gate was unusually large, at least from the usual C-rank gates they encountered. Fortunately, the monsters’ ranks were not that high and corresponded to the gate rank.

They only worried for a few minutes before they continued and became happy because of the massive spoils they were about to harvest in this exploration.

While they continued on, they reached another area.

"It’s so quiet?"

They noticed it immediately. The Guild Leader’s expression became solemn.

"Don’t relax, everyone."

None of them retreated or suggested it. Although wary of the silence, they still did not think it was that dangerous.

However, this proved to be the wrong decision a few minutes later.

"H-How..."

"A-class?"

They could only murmur in terror, their voices so low as if any minute now their ability to say a word would leave them.

The fear quickly consumed the group. The mana emanating from the monster was enough to suffocate everyone whose ranks averaged D and C. The highest was the guild leader with B-rank.

Even then, there was no way for them to contend against an A-rank monster.

Sniffles turned to slow sobs resounded; it started with the guides and then the espers. The guild leader was no better than them; his face was pale, and his whole body was trembling.

This was how they die?

None of them even thought that they might survive this. Their group was about to be annihilated. Even though unwilling in their hearts, they could only collapse on the ground as the monster howled at their faces, and its pressure even made the guides pass out.

The other D-rank espers even peed in their pants.

The Guild Leader’s breathing became heavy, and his knees also weakened.

The monsters became excited seeing them and ran to their location.

This was his end.

The Guild leader’s tears streamed down his cheeks, blaming himself for the death of his members.

Just as he thought that everything was about to end, and he was preparing himself to die...

The Guild Leader blinked in shock. The monster that was running towards them suddenly floated, its body glowing slightly. He thought it was the monster’s ability at first, but when the monster struggled and flailed in the air, the Guild Leader shook his head inwardly.

The next thing made him terrified. The A-rank monster, which was floating noticeably, struggled, and something seemed to be gripping it, but the Guild Leader could not see it.

Before he and the others could react, the monster exploded in front of them. The blood almost splattered on everyone, but an invisible wall seemed to stop it as it dripped down slowly on the ground.

"Wh-What’s that?" A trembling voice reacted at this time.

"Oh? Sorry, I’m almost late." An unfamiliar voice sounded behind them.

The Guild Leader and the members, who still had their sanity left, turned to where the voice came from.

There stood a strikingly handsome man with his purple shining eyes and dark hair. He was tall with a pale complexion. There was an easygoing smile on his lips.

He was soon standing before the group.

"Are you alright?" he asked gently.

The guild leader burst out crying, then he bowed until his head almost touched the ground.

"Thank you so much... Thank you... for saving us..."

The others also did the same.

The man kindly smiled and waved his hand.

"It’s nothing. I’m glad you’re all safe."

There was a kind of aura in him that everyone could not help but have a good impression of. It was as though he were the protagonist of his world.

Once everyone calmed down and was decent enough. The guild leader thanked the newcomer again, not even asking why the other was inside the gate when they acquired it.

They totally forgot about it.

"May I know your name? Uh, we only want to know the name of our savior. It’s fine if you don’t want to tell us about it."

"No, it’s fine." His purple eyes shimmered like a gem, and the others seemed to become dazed. "You all can call me... Epsilon."
