In This Rebirth, The Male Lead Is Mine [BL]

Chapter 229: Return Again (3)

Riri was the same as ever and looked so cute. He was wearing a small suit, as though he were prepared to see them both together. Rise picked him up.

"You sneaky. You saw us return?" Rise narrowed his eyes at the child.

Riri wrapped his small hand around Rise’s neck.

"I’m sorry," Riri apologized, knowing he was wrong. Rise was not really mad; if anything, he was amused.

This was also not harmful.

Riri turned to Kamille; his eyes seemed to glimmer as he looked at him. Both stared at each other; Rise could only watch them.

Riri’s arm around Rise tightened.

"Guild Leader?" Rise called, sensing Riri’s nervousness. "Is something wrong?" He remembered their talk the last time about Riri. Did Kamille see something?

Kamille blinked, snapping out of his daze. He turned to Rise, his gaze somehow conflicted. Rise’s heart skipped a beat, hugging Riri.

"What is it?" Rise’s expression turned solemn. Kamille having this expression was making him nervous.

Kamille’s left eye twitched slightly, as though he were still in the process of comprehending what he had just sensed. He shifted his gaze back to Riri, eyes turning crimson. This was an enhanced True Sight, or rather, this was not an ability anymore.

"Kamille," Rise called, this time, with his name. "Can you tell me what’s wrong?"

Kamille tilted his head slightly, his gaze returning to Rise.

"We need to talk," he said in an incredulous tone.

Rise furrowed his brows, not understanding it. Kamille motioned, and he understood that they had to talk more seriously.

He realized that they were still in front of the elevator.

"Can’t you say it here?" At some point, Kamille took Riri from his arms and carried the child instead.

Riri was not as nervous either and, for some reason, felt even closer to them.

In no time, they reached the living room. Coincidentally, the Union General was not around. Aside from some staff here and there, they were alone.

"Now, tell me, what’s going on?" Rise sternly asked. This was something related to Riri, and he had to take it seriously.

Riri sat between them, looking so well-behaved. For a moment, Rise thought about if they should talk about this in front of him. He looked at Kamille, conveying his intention.

However, the other seemed not to mind. Rise moistened his lips. Perhaps it was not as bad. He hoped so.

Kamille stared at Riri. His whole expression changed a few times. Now, Rise noticed that Kamille was more surprised than worried.

It was as though he were witnessing an incredible event. Even when he told him about novels and resets, Kamille did not have this expression.

"Riri," Kamille called his name.

Riri looked up at him. The child was not as uncomfortable, but still definitely intimidated. In fact, Riri was a monster from the gate... and Kamille was a noble. It was even more surprising that he was not terrified, as most monsters felt that instinctive fear of the beings beyond the gates.

"Do you remember your parents?"

Kamille still remembered when they first met and saw the ’description’ on him, the four-eyed monster.

[The Sightless One]

[The Current Mother of Oculus]

They were vague, but at the same time pretty self-explanatory. Seeing the title, he assumed that Riri had inherited it from the previous mother of Oculus; as for who, he could only ask him.

Kamille glanced slightly at Rise when he asked this question.

"Parents?" Riri tilted his head, unable to understand what it meant.

Rise had a foreboding feeling about where this was heading, but he explained it to the child. "The one that gave birth to you... How do you come into being, or if there’s any?"

"I don’t know." Riri pursed his lips, then shook his head. "I can’t remember."

"Then, can you tell us what the first thing you remember after you regained wisdom?" Was that it? Most monsters regained wisdom later on.

Almost the same as humans, about memories.

"I..." Riri became lost in thought, and the two did not interrupt him. Rise was not sure what Kamille wanted to accomplish by asking this, but that did not stop him from helping the other.

Also, he was curious about Riri’s origins.

Riri frowned slightly. He looked up, looking unsure.

"I only knew that place. I existed there, and my fate is to die." Riri remembered this before the two arrived and brought him outside the gate. "I sat there all day."

That was it. Riri’s life was not much; he only stood in the same position and waited for his time to die. He had no emotions and no thoughts.

The moment the two arrived and asked him if he was afraid to die, Riri answered that he wanted to die, because his life was not that important.

He spent lost in his subconscious, and time passed just like that.

Kamille’s expression flashed with anger. He held Riri’s touch, surprising the child and even Rise.

Rise looked at them both. Actually, he did not think too much before. After all, Riri might have used Kamille as a preset for his human form.

Kamille looked so much like Riri, which is the reason for the rumors going around the last time. Now, looking at them... Rise’s mind clicked, even to that conversation they had in the other world.

About them being related or having connections.

"What the... Don’t tell me...?" Kamille glanced at him, about to speak, but Rise stopped him. He looked at Riri and asked. "Riri, did you copy Kamille’s face in your human form?"

Riri shook his head immediately.

"I seem to have it... humanoid form."

Meaning, Riri could switch between the two naturally. Which meant... It was his real form. Who looked exactly like Kamille. It was not hard to connect them both.

"Wait... wait..." Rise brushed his silver hair; this was something he needed to process carefully. No wonder Kamille looked like that earlier.

He slowly turned to Kamille. His expression conflicted.

"How come... Is he your son? What the hell? Who’s the mother?"

And how did it happen? Rise’s mind could not comprehend this at all. And his mind was now beginning to think of countermeasures, like what to do if there was someone out there being his true love rival?

Kamille simply stared at him.

"Say something." Rise knew the other did not know about this, but he was panicking a bit at this revelation that seemingly came out of nowhere.

"It’s you," Kamille said, almost in a weak and incredulous tone.

Rise paused his movements; he stared at Kamille, who also did not leave his gaze off him.

"Guild Leader... Are you crazy?"

Literally, how?
