Chapter 93: Demon Subjugator
[Skill: Tempest Blade (Level 1)
Description/Effects: Allows the user to release continuous powerful and sharp air blades created from the pressure in each of their strikes. With swift, controlled movements, the user unleashes a whirlwind of slashing strikes, each infused with the howling power of the tempest.]
Edith showed her might in a battle where she faced many opponents all at once.
The [Tempest Blade] was cast as sharp blades made from air pressure were released in each slash she made.
The small demonized beasts that warmed towards them were cleared in an instant as Aaliyah put her hand forward to cast a huge [Incinerating Beam].
The next moment, the beam of fire erupted in front of Aaliyah.
The demonized beasts in front were pulverized and burnt to crisp, allowing a huge gap to appear in front of them, acting as the path that leads them to the demon’s heart at the center.
As the path forward was created, Edith saw the opportunity and instantly blasted her way through. Aaliyah followed right behind her back as the two of them finally reached the area near the demon’s heart once again.
The demonized beasts around quickly reacted.
The miniature sun hovering above Aaliyah even made the once silent demon heart to palpitate and awaken.
"Accept your end," Edith let out a resounding roar as she closed her eyes with the broken Volcanic Wyrm Sword in her hands.
A white energy emitted out of her body and slowly condensed towards the Volcanic Wyrm Sword, coating it nicely until it looked like a broken sword no more.
The white energy formed the outline of another sword with the Volcanic Wyrm Sword as its base.
The moment it did so, Aaliyah’s eyes narrowed with a red glint as she smashed the huge fireball hovering above her head towards the demon heart.
The demon heart could no longer sit still.
If it was from its peak strength, this attack would not be able to hurt it at all. However, it knew that the huge fireball was very dangerous for its current state.
For the first time since Miguel and the others arrived here, the demon heart finally awakened and let out a grunting sound that resembled a dragon’s roar.
Its voice made the surroundings tremble as the demonized beasts echoed with their own roar as well, amplifying the sound even more.
The heart palpitated as though it was alive. It wanted to escape, but it couldn’t.
At the center of the elevated rock, a shriveled hand actually held it in place, not allowing it to move even a single inch away.
The demon heart struggled, purplish miasma emitted out of it, making the demonized beasts around it go even crazier.
However, everything was already set in place.
The huge fireball imbued with the incinerating fire struck the demon heart squarely.
A resounding explosion ensued at the next moment, shaking the whole place as though there was an earthquake.
The demon heart let out a painful grunting sound as the incinerating fire slowly burned its outer part away into smoke.
Demonized beast surged towards it, as though wanting to chip the strength of the huge fireball away. Some also began to surge towards Aaliyah who had already dropped to the ground in exhaustion, but they were all repelled by the force around Edith who still had her eyes closed.
The shriveled hand holding the demon heart in place also slowly melted away from the incinerating fire.
As the hand melted away, the demon heart finally found the opportunity to escape.
The shriveled hand was actually the seal that the previous Edith made to contain the demon heart in place.
However, now that it was burned away by the Aaliyah’s fire, the demon heart could now escape without a problem.
It quickly did so and immediately rose to the air.
The fire around it was left behind as it shed a new layer of ’skin’, escaping the incinerating fire.
Although it was badly damaged, at least it had now escaped its predicament.
Or so it thought.
The moment it shed its skin and flew up, Edith finally opened her eyes.
She looked at the demon heart with unyielding determination and fearlessness.
Her only regret from before would finally be resolved at this moment.
The Volcanic Wyrm Sword glowed in brightness.
The skill, [Demon Subjugator] was casted by Edith in its strongest state in her current level.
Due to how desperate their situation was, the strength of this skill became even more amplified due to Edith’s [Indomitable Will] Innate Skill.
The glow in her eyes intensified as she stared at the floating demon heart.
The demon heart pulsated, as though preparing for an attack as well.
However, Edith did not wait for it to do that.
Her figure disappeared with a stomp of her foot, appearing directly right in front of the demon heart in mid-air.
She slashed the broken Volcanic Wyrm Sword imbued with the [Demon Subjugator] skill towards the floating demon heart along with her other skill, [Executioner’s Slash].
[Skill: Executioner’s Slash (Level 1)
Description/Effects: A devastating and precise slashing attack designed to deliver a decisive and lethal strike capable of cleaving through formidable defenses and adversaries. It embodies both precision and power, often employed to conclude battles swiftly and decisively.]
This was the skill that she had been using to cut the demonized beasts earlier with one slash.
However, this time, its magnitude and lethality were magnified even more due to her Innate Skill, and the [Demon Subjugator] working along it.
The moment she made the slash, time seemed to stop for the demon heart.
A light streak across it, slashing it completely in half.
The demon heart stopped in mid-air, it was still like a rock.
All the demonized beasts also paused.
Edith landed on the ground. The Volcanic Wyrm Sword completely broke into pieces and left her hand. With blood and exhaustion all over her face, Edith looked above and stared at the deathly still demon heart in anticipation with a smile visible on her face.
The next moment, the demon heart completely split in half.
One part slid down from the other as it began to convulse rapidly in mid-air.
The sound of a loud pulsating heartbeat echoed around the area as the two parts of the demon heart slowly fell to the ground.
However, right at that moment, the smile on Edith’s face suddenly disappeared.
"No! Get out of here, quick!"
Boom!
