It was good and all when they first appeared and brought him a lot of experience points.

However, their frequent occurrence also made him annoyed. Especially if he could not enjoy the battle as those that appeared were only just low-level beasts that he could easily kill. Those strong were also too strong for the current him and hence, he could only rely on Aaliyah to fight.

Now, a weak demonized beast even targeted the Volcanic Tortoise, which he planned on nurturing to become like its ancient form. How could Miguel not be annoyed by this?

Burning the body of the Amphibiac Mouse, Miguel sat not far away from the evolving Volcanic Tortoise to guard it.

The night was already deep, and it still showed signs of finishing its evolution soon. However, Miguel knew that it would not take that long based on what he saw from the information provided by his Innate Skill.

He calmly waited, and guarded beside it.

His guard was up as his [Divine Sense] was on full blast. Any minor movement around him will be detected instantly.

Fortunately, it did not happen.

Two hours later, the Volcanic Tortoise suddenly emitted a fiery glow. It was low intensity at first, but the glow covered the Volcanic Tortoise’s body in one go a moment later.

At this point, the Volcanic Tortoise’s body could no longer be seen with the naked eye, and only its vague silhouette could be seen behind the glow.

If not for Miguel’s Innate Skill of being able to see through everything, he would surely not be able see what was going behind the glow.

A moment later, the glow finally started to dim.

Miguel’s eyes marveled at the scene in front of him.

At that instant, the Volcanic Tortoise instantly changed shape and transformed into an entirely new species.

The evolution he knew was gradual and long. Of all his life, this was the first time he saw an evolution that was finished in an instant.

The rule in this Wild Beast World was indeed not normal. Miguel looked forward to the day he explored all the places and wonders of this world.

For now though, his gaze narrowed on the Volcanic Tortoise- no to be precise, it should be called as Scorching Water Tortoise now.

The Scorching Water Tortoise was twice as big as its previous form, the Volcanic Tortoise. The shallow water it submerged previously could only reach the joint on its feet with its current size.

From the previous red-black color scheme, it also changed to a red-blue color scheme.

Its light bluish head was round with big watery eyes. At its back was a red shell. Mounted atop it were two cylindrical holes placed side by side like a twin cannon, emitting hot mist as though there was boiling water hidden beneath them.

The Scorching Water Tortoise looked around in visible confusion. When its gaze landed on Miguel a few meters away, it’s big watery eyes instantly widened in surprise and joy.

With its plump legs, the Scorching Water Tortoise immediately ran towards Miguel excitedly, snubbing its big round head on Miguel’s thigh affectionately while releasing cute, Bah* Bah* sound.

Miguel smiled and rubbed the Scorching Water Tortoise’s head softly. The emotions and intelligence it displayed was definitely higher than before. Miguel could also feel that his connection with it as a summoner seemed to have been enhanced after its evolution.

Its transformation made him happy and satisfied.

He had always sought knowledge even more than strength. And practical knowledge was even better than just theoretical knowledge. His success brought him joy to the deepest part of his soul.

For him, there was no better experience than having your knowledge about something getting realized.

The last time he experienced this joy was when he confirmed that Origin Energy indeed existed and that he could now utilize it.

The Scorching Water Tortoise was also very happy about its evolution. It kept on rubbing Miguel’s thigh softly as though it was expressing its gratitude towards him.

Miguel did not stop it and allowed it to express its feelings.

He then let the grimoire hover in front of him as it flipped to the third page, to where the information of the previous Volcanic Tortoise was stored.

Miguel read the information in relish.

The previous character illustration of the Volcanic Tortoise was now replaced with its current appearance. Right below this illustration was an updated information of the previous Volcanic Tortoise to a Scorching Water Tortoise.

Miguel was not surprised about its level resting into Level 1 even though it had already become Level 2 not too long ago.

When beasts evolve into a higher grade, their level would reset to Level 1, however, this doesn’t mean that they were weaker compared to their previous self.

Miguel noticed that aside from [Flame Jump] most of its skills have evolved along with it as well. There was also a new skill called [Water Sucking] [Boiling Water Blast], adding more to its damage capabilities.

[Skill: Water Ingestion (Level 1)

Description/Effects: With a limited water capacity for its use, the Scorching Water Tortoise can use this ability to ingest a large amount of water from its surroundings for its own use.]

[Skill: Boiling Water Blast (Level 1)

Description/Effects: Release a continuous blast of boiling water from the Scorching Water Tortoise’s Blast Cannon towards a target in a short distance. For continuous usage, the Scorching Water Tortoise can use this skill in combination with [Water Ingestion]]

These two new skills were very convenient in Miguel’s opinion, especially [Water Ingestion].

It must be noted that beast energies were not unlimited. Just like humans, they could also be exhausted.

And unlike Miguel that could infinitely replenish his energy reserve for skills through Origin Energy, the energies used by the contracted beasts were just provided by the grimoire every time they were summoned to the world.

Element skills were even more hard to utilize than physical skills. It also consumed more energies as beasts with an attribute skill would need to transform normal energies into the elements for them to use it.

However, with a skill like [Water Ingestion], the Scorching Water Tortoise would have no problem fighting a battle of attrition as long as it was in a body of water at all.

Miguel was very satisfied with its transformation indeed. His previous annoyance to the ever-appearing demonized beasts disappeared as he became eager to meet them and try the newly evolved Scorching Water Tortoise.

And regarding that, Miguel did not wait for long.

Perhaps attracted by the light produced by the Scorching Water Tortoise’s evolution earlier, a curious beast gradually entered Miguel’s [Divine Sense].
