I Can Contract Beauties

Miguel and the Scorching Water Tortoise turned to look at the direction upstream of the creek almost at the same time.

The next moment, a sneaky beast entered their view.

Upon a closer look, Miguel and the Scorching Water Tortoise realized that it was actually a demonized beast.

This demonized beast was big and stronger than the Amphibiac Mouse that Miguel easily killed earlier.

Its figure has already been deformed. It looked grotesque with its neck twisted in a strange form. It has short front legs and muscular hind legs. The muscle on its chest looked ripped, as though it was constantly flexing as it faced Miguel and the Scorching Water Tortoise.

Its short front legs have obvious black long claws. It looked very demonic especially now that the surroundings were dark.

At first glance, one might mistake it for a kangaroo.

However, looking closely, Miguel realized that it wasn’t actually a kangaroo, but instead a dog-like creature.

Its figure was very strange, it looked as if it was transfigured.

Feeling its strength, Miguel guessed that it might be a Silver Grade Beast.

Even the Scorching Water Tortoise felt the threat that it possessed.

The Scorching Water Tortoise went in front of Miguel as it looked at the dog-like beast fiercely with its big watery eyes.

Although it had just evolved, the Scorching Water Tortoise was already ready to throw hands towards the opponent that might threaten its master.

Bah! Bah! Bah!

The Scorching Water Tortoise released a series of sounds directed towards the demonized beast, as though warning from attacking them.

However, no matter the grade, a demonized beast was still a demonized beast.

It did not respond to the Scorching Water Tortoise’s actions and instead stood up on its hind legs.

Roar!

A beastly roar escaped its mouth, rows of razor sharp teeth could be seen within. The long black claws on its front legs extended forward. It glowed for a moment before the demonized beast jumped at extreme speed towards Miguel and the Scorching Water Tortoise.

Miguel’s eyes narrowed seeing its speed. It was even faster than the Luminous Giant Toad they faced earlier.

However, he and the Scorching Water Tortoise were not to be outdone either.

Before the demonized beast managed to arrive in front of them, he ordered the Scorching Water Tortoise to use [Boiling Bubble Armor].

[Skill: Boiling Bubble Armor (Level 1)

Description/Effects: User can encase itself with bubble armor that is steamingly hot. This bubble armor only has little to no defensive capability, but when popped, it can return a boiling damage to the enemies around it in extremely short distance. ]

This Skill was an evolution to its previous skill, [Rock Hard].

In the next instant, the Scorching Water Tortoise and Miguel were immediately encased by a huge water bubble.

The bubble was transparent and wobbly. One look and one could already determine that it could not hold out against any powerful attack.

However, Miguel did not use it for its defensive capability. He mainly used it to test its usage and strength.

It just so happened that their enemy this time was using its own claws to attack. It could only move closer to them if it wanted to land a hit. And enemies like this were the perfect enemies to use [Boiling Bubble Armor] on.

In the next second, the demonized beast arrived in front of them.

Its terrifying mouth opened widely in front of them. Its black long claws extended forward, trying to hit the Scorching Water Tortoise.

However, its attack only met the [Boiling Bubble Armor.

A minor resistance stopped it’s attack for a split second, and that was it.

The bubble armor immediately popped with a ’blop’ sound.

The moment it did so, a rain of scorching hot water rained down on the surroundings with Miguel and the Scorching Water Tortoise at the center. As they were within the bubble armor earlier, they were not affected by the hot rain.

The demonized beast on the other hand has the hot rain pouring down its fur directly. It was quickly drenched in the hot rain as its momentum was halted and landed on the ground.

It’s body shivered a little due to pain, however, that was it.

The moment it landed, it immediately lunged towards the Scorching Water Tortoise with its long claws extended forward.

Miguel immediately ordered the Scorching Water Tortoise to use [Molten Splash] as his body submerged underground.

[Skill: Molten Splash (Level 1)

Description/Effects: User can condensed a ball of molten fire even more liquid than before. Instead of a minor explosion, the molten ball of fire will now splash upon hitting a target.]

This was the evolved version of [Molten Spit].

Launched in almost point-blank range, there was no doubt that this attack would surely hit.

However, the demonized beast was not to be trifled either.

It’s body actually flashed to the side, completely evading the [Molten Splash].

The Scorching Water Tortoise was surprised and was not able to react in time. The claws of the beast struck its shell, producing sparks of light as though it was metal clashing against metal.

However, the shell was still part of the Scorching Water Tortoise’s body.

The Scorching Water Tortoise released a painful shriek as Miguel, who was hiding underground for an ambush finally emerged right below the demonized beast.

The Volcanic Wyrm Sword traveled at extreme speed as Miguel stabbed it from below.

Unfortunately, as though it had completely expected it, the demonized beast actually evaded in time as well. It flashed to the side, this time, its black claws were extending forward towards Miguel’s nape.

Miguel’s eyes narrowed as his Innate Skill screamed danger. Without shifting his body, he immediately use [Shadow Steps], allowing him to escape the black claws in a hair’s breadth.

The Scorching Water Tortoise released a thunderous ’Bahhh’ as it used [Scorching Water Blast] with the two holes mounted on its back.

At the same time, emerging a few meters away, Miguel had a frown on his face.

’Why is my reaction getting duller?’
