B5 | Chapter 55
Alexia
There are several different things I can see happening if the Universe’s Will is destroyed.
Since its destruction would mean no more laws restricting the Quantum Beings, Quantum Beings who have been fulfilling their roles for hundreds of thousands if not millions of years may just ditch those roles to relax instead. To let the universe burn.
And I can easily see this happening for a few of the Quantum Beings.
The Quantum Cleaner, for example, would absolutely do this. All to continue gaming.
After all, his role is to just clean up after the corrupted beings are dealt with. Which doesn’t affect his gaming in the slightest.
Plus he always looked rather pissed off when he went to clean up the galaxies I wiped out the corrupted beings from. And sounded pissed too.
So I’d genuinely be shocked if he continued doing his job after no longer being forced to.
Even if he did continue doing his job, he’d probably only do it in-between games. Thereby letting the corruption fester.
So he wouldn’t be doing his job very well.
And that’s just the Quantum Cleaner. I can also see the Quantum Vanguard ditching his job since he’s constantly fighting the corruption with little to no break. Making him constantly sick of it.
Then there’s the Quantum Enforcer, also known as the Judge, who will likely be let out of his punishment if the Universe’s Will is destroyed. Thereby becoming a loose cannon. Not to mention the Quantum Balancer who is in the exact same situation.
Just that the Quantum Balancer is even more of a loose cannon than the Quantum Enforcer.
The main issue is that the Quantum Enforcer has a very strong sense of justice. Possibly too strong a sense of it.
There have been a lot of situations where he wanted to punish more people but couldn’t thanks to the universe’s laws. Which means he’ll probably punish more people than he should if the Universe’s Will is destroyed. Causing problems of his own in the process.
As for the Quantum Balancer? I don’t know what he’ll do. He is completely without morals or empathy from what the Architect said. He just does whatever is the most efficient method to complete his job.

And someone like that no longer having a job could be… troublesome.
The other Quantum Beings likely won’t be problems though.
The Quantum Archon just wants to read and couldn’t care less about universal matters beyond his archives. And the Quantum Scribe just wants to write and document everything that happens. Without interfering himself.
And the same goes for the Quantum Builder and the Quantum Creator, neither of whom have interest in conflict.
So there are four Quantum Beings who shouldn’t be a problem even if the Universe’s Will is destroyed. But the others could be a major issue nearly equal in scale to the corruption.
Then there’s the Quantum Ruler.
I have no idea what’ll happen with regards to him.
He’s a mystery to me.
I know the Quantum Ruler is always acting. He’s altering how he seems to others, changing different personalities and likes and dislikes all to fit his role as well as possible. All for the sake of the Universe’s Will that’s always watching him.
But if the Universe’s Will is destroyed, then what personality will reign in the end as his true personality?
And will it be good, or will it be evil?
Also, possibly more importantly, will he continue trying to make me call him Grandpa or Grandfather?
Because I hope not.
It is kind of ironic that this crisis is happening not too long after Zal finally got himself a successor for the Quantum Architect position. Considering how troublesome that matter was for so long. Only for it to now possibly be completely pointless.
On another note, what will happen to the roles? Will no one be able to take over the roles without the Universe’s Will to decide who is worthy of them?
Or will they continue being a thing?
There are too many questions.
Although the ‘who’ that is attacking the Universe’s Will doesn’t even need its own question. That’s rather obvious.
The only being strong enough to do that is the Corrupted One.
The Quantum Ruler’s brother and a corrupted Quantum Being.
On another note, Zal? Are you listening?
Seconds pass in silence without an answer. Likely implying he is not here and is not listening.
I guess he must be busy with whatever is happening as well.
After a brief pause, I open a way to the Quantum Realm before sticking my head in and doing a brief search. Just to see if I can find anything amiss.
But I don’t manage to find anything. So I quickly give up.
There isn’t really a way to find out what’s going on and where without Zal’s guidance. Since I have no idea where the Universe’s Will could even be.
I purse my lips for a moment before shaking my head and leaving the Retreat. Which should probably change it’s name, seeing as it’s one of the most powerful nations in the entire Dimensional Grid now. Unlike at the start where it was literally a retreat for people wanting safety from the other powers.
Maybe I should mention it to Astrid at some point. Getting them to change the Retreat’s name.
Before that, I still have a couple things to clean up in the nations belonging to those Ascendants I just killed.
Specifically, their treasures. Since I’m sure they all have treasure hidden away in their homes spread across their own Dimensional Blocks.
And any items can be of use for when I face off against the Corrupted One. Even if they can’t be used against the trials.
Although I’d prefer stocking items that I don’t have to actively use, considering my bad memory.
But even I probably won’t forget items if I’m fighting someone at the Corrupted One’s level in the future. Or other Quantum Beings.
So it’s time to loot.
