Chapter 59: Ch. 29 Part 1
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The clanging sounds of metals clashing together resonated. Two people clashed one making movements and attacking from all sides wielding two long and average looking daggers. The other stood in place calmly wielding a long sword as he defend off the incoming attacks of the one with daggers. Xiao Ling leaped head on intending to strike from above, Yanzhi decisively raised up his sword and easily blocked the attack midair. He smirked with a smug look, Xiao Ling added more strength pushing down on Yanzhi. Yanzhi easily pried away Xiao Ling’s daggers throwing him off with great strength. Xiao Ling landed about 10 feet’s away from him in a squatting position with his daggers stuck in the ground using that as support from falling flat. His remained still with his chest raising up and down panting as he catch his breath, but his eyes still remained vigilantly on Yanzhi watching intently in oder not to suffer a surprise attack.
".....big....big sister was mistress always this strong?" Liu asked Yue who was by her side as they watched their master and mistress spar. Jinghua and doctor Shi also stood not far from them as they watch such a spectacular spar between two strong people. Jinghua and doctor Shi now were firmed in their believes that Xiao Ling was also a master martial artist in disguise, they looked at the couple with envious eyes. An immortal cultivator and a master martial artist, wasn’t it a powerhouse family. They were leaning to absorb qi from heaven and earth not long when they heard the clashing sounds of metals, Liu had them stopped and quickly hurried to where the clanging sounds came from. They were met with Yanzhi and Xiao Ling who exchanging strikes and Yue, Mei Lin, Ling, Feng and the Lu’s who had come back from the building site watching their master and mistress spar. Shock and bewilderment was the only expression they all had including Chang and Baihu who were still in their punishment. Yue was the only one amongst them who wasn’t as shocked as them but all the same she had a somewhat shocked expression.
Yue glanced at Liu after hearing her question, she swept through her siblings and doctor Shi and Jinhua who looked at her excited and anticipation waiting for her to answer Liu’s question. Since she was with Yanzhi and Xiao Ling months before them she would know best. Yue sighed "don’t you already know mistress’s identify? You’ve already seen the strength of big brother Bee" she simple answered, because there were strangers amongst them she didn’t want to go into details. Her siblings nodded perplex, amongst them only Baihu and Mei Lin didn’t know what they were talking about as well as doctor Shi and Jinhua who were confused and completely lost. "I know but i didn’t know that mistress would be this strong!" Lin said proud of their mistress. Yue gave him an amused look "what do you mean.... when big brother Bee who’s also silver core like us is much more stronger than us. Then how come his master wouldn’t be far more stronger, and since you didn’t know this. Let me tell you mistress is golden core!" just as Yue’s words ended making them all gasped "deit..." Chang’s sprouted earning a warning glare from Yue making his words cut short. Doctor Shi and Jinhua who saw that they were talking in puzzle got the hint that what they were discussing wasn’t meant for others who weren’t family to know since it was an important information which was involving Xiao Ling’s true identity.
Remembering the warning words of Yanzhi to them not to pry, they both knew not to ask or be interested in such a topic. While all the disciples at present understood Yue’s unspoken words except for Baihu and Mei Lin, the Lu’s who were present when Yanzhi explained of the cultivation path knew of that information. "Elder sister was that the reason you stopped me earlier" Liu asked. "That wasn’t the only reason..... mistress....he is very scary when he’s angry and I’ve witnessed it. He terrified me, he was covered with an eerieness screaming of death" Yue spoke recalling what she witness, she felt the shivers and ghostly feeling from before. The rest also shivered from her words setting their sights on Xiao Ling who on normal days had the temperament of a naive and docile youngster, but now sparring with Yanzhi he’s demeanor was serious and cold.
"Little wife are you tired already?" Yanzhi asked with a smile as he watched the youngster who remained squatting with his eyes solely on him. "No! I’m just assessing first!" Xiao Ling answered with enthusiasm and determinations making YanZhi chuckled lightly. "Little wife you’re indeed strong...but your movements and actions leaves much to desire. Too many pointless and excessive actions, your movements are messy and not corresponding.. Little wife no matter how strong you are, you’re considered weak and an amateur if you don’t know how to wield the blade well and your movements and actions are this messy!" Yanzhi gave his evaluation truthfully and coldly with a calm expression, stating facts and not leaving anything out. He was such that he would state the fact even if it meant hurting a person’s self esteem, what if he hide the facts and left the person thinking he was doing everything right and in the end looses his life in lies and overconfidence. And the problem now was with Xiao Ling, Yanzhi would prefer to let Xiao Ling know his flaws and correct them. Yue and the rest hearing Yanzhi’s cold and harsh words were stunned, speechless and dumbfounded. They didn’t think Yanzhi would say such words to Xiao Ling so easily without battling an eye, Xiao Ling who was degraded mercilessly didn’t have the same thoughts as those pitying him. He was glad that Yanzhi didn’t hide his flawless and rather told him, that way him (XL) would correct it and not be cut down one day by his blind confidence.
"En!" Xiao Ling nodded, "i understand... i don’t know the basics and there are a lot of flaws in my movements. I charge in continuously without a thought... i-i don’t know how to fight well." Xiao Ling stated without feeling embarrassed or shy about it. Yanzhi smiled, he was starting to like Xiao Ling more and more as they lived together. To be able to admit one’s mistakes and flaws without feeling embarrassed about it, how admirable. "Truly, little wife’s flaws are too many. It was my mistake to have not thought about it previously, since little wife’s spiritual energy was abundant i was short sighted. But do not worry i Yanzhi will help you correct all your flaws and make you stronger than any other monarchs, this is my promise to you as a god!" Yanzhi said with himself held high overflowing with confidence and shining with elegance and grace like the god he is. Xiao Ling smiled brightly and stood up on his feet "en Xiong gong, thank you! I’ve never learnt to fight before, i had to pick up the blades in oder to survive and protect myself. I had no teacher to teach and guide me." he said reminiscing of his past life.
This made the people hearing it look at him with bewilderment and full of praise. "Little wife is truly commendable, you have my praise and awe of your strong will. For a mortal to reach the heights you’ve reached now, it’s truly worth looking forward to see how more you can grow." Yanzhi was full of praise of him making him embarrassed. "Let’s go for one more round, but this time around little wife.....i won’t hold back. And also use all the technique i just taught you and the ones which you’ve already learnt, because this time around i will cut you when my blade reaches you so do well to defend yourself as well as try to inflict equal damage on me" Yanzhi said as his demeanor suddenly changed from carefree to serious, Xiao Ling nodded. The rest sucked in their breaths with their attentions on Yanzhi and Xiao Ling. ’Qi flows exactly like mana, cover my daggers with mana...’ Xiao Ling thought with his eyes closed taking in deep calming breaths. After a minute or so his eyes suddenly opened with the fire of determination burning in them, he felt the qi which clothed his daggers.
