Chapter 60: Ch. 29 Part 2
Xiao Ling regained some momentum, he activated the acquired skills and stood on guard, he listened on carefully differenciating each sounds. Yanzhi smirked satisfied seeing that Xiao Ling was catching on to what he was trying to teach him, in a blink of an eye he disappeared from where he stood moments ago and appeared at the side of Xiao Ling as he striked.
Clang!
Their weapons clashed together as Xiao Ling reacted to Yanzhi’s attack and defended, although his reaction wasn’t perfect and in time he was still able to defend perfectly. This made him regained his confidence thinking he can do it if he tried, they both jumped back creating a distance in between. "That’s it, you’re starting to get it. You already have the abilities and you’ve been thought them, learn how to use them well in your battles" Yanzhi praised. "En!" he answered in his nasal and nodded.
"Mistress was able to perceive master’s attack and defended!!!!" Liu said belated, the rest also had smiles on their faces. "I think mistress won’t be taking more damages from master!" Lin added. Doctor Shi and Jinhua just watched quietly without uttering any words, they were astonished and speechless, to be able to witness such sparring between two masters, they were glad.
Xiao Ling still not able to use the skills acquired properly chose to defend instead of attacking, he remained in his spot guarded. He felt something within him changing at fast pace, when he first occupied his now current body Xiao Ling could tell that he wasn’t able to control the body well and make it solely his. But now he felt that changing, the body and his soul was merging at speed making him very comfortable with the body than he was not long ago. He could feel the body and his soul becoming one making movements and actions more easier for him.
Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!
The continuos clashing sounds of metals continued to resonate as Yanzhi strike Continuously with Xiao Ling doing his best to defend. With him being on his guard and perceiving his surroundings Continuously, Xiao Ling perfected himself in using the skills.
Xiao Ling decided to go from defending to attacking after getting used and familiriazed with the skills, he charged at Yanzhi who looked at him with approving eyes and with great anticipation. Xiao Ling strike with the dagger in his right hand, but just as the attack was breaths away from Yanzhi, Yanzhi vanished from the spot. Xiao Ling maintained a cool head and listened on picking out the sounds, he raised his left hand and blocked an incoming attack from his side then attacked straight away with his right. Heavy clang resonated as Yanzhi blocked his attack with a whoosh sound of wind, both their aura resonated with each other creating a strong clash of aura. It was as if they were no longer fighting with their weapons but instead they were having a clash with spiritual energy. They were ingulfed in strong wind which rised from their energy clashing together, they both withdrew back their weapons as if having the same thoughts to clash one more time. It was as if they both tactically agreed that they were going to decide the end of their sparring with that one last clash. Xiao Ling striked head on infusing all his qi into his attack, Yanzhi also put a little effort in his attack as both their weapons clashed. Strong striking wind was sent to each other, Yanzhi easily deflected the sword aura sent by Xiao Ling to his side. He intentionally made his attack missed Xiao Ling by an inch leaving a very deep and long slash on ground right beside Xiao Ling.
"Mistress!"
"Master Ling!"
Yue and her siblings as well as doctor Shi and Jinhua shouted in unison, their hearts almost leaped out of their mouths thinking Yanzhi’s attack was going to hit Xiao Ling. But what they didn’t know was that the whole time Yanzhi was sparring with Xiao Ling he was making sure to take notice of Xiao Ling’s situation and what Xiao Ling could stand. If he really wanted to harm Xiao Ling he would have done that since considering the numerous of times he made his attacks missed it’s targets. When he told Xiao Ling he wasn’t going hold back that didn’t mean he was going to attack with full strength, Yanzhi only used 1/100 of his full strength and Xiao Ling himself could tell that Yanzhi went easy on him.
