"I pride myself in always being right about everything, Selene," The Grand Lycan chuckled softly "And Noah is going to very much regret when he brings those men back to the Pack. They’ll ruin him and you too but it won’t be my fault... I told him so and like always he refuses to listen,".
"So, you will stand and watch them ruin Noah? But he’s your son, Your Majesty. Your flesh and your blood... I know he has offended you in so many ways but you’d rather let a stranger do that to him? Come on, where is your sense of decency?"
"Thrown into the abyss where it already was from the get-go," the Grand Lycan replied "I warned Noah about you... You’re a wonderful woman, smart for the most part, beautiful and maybe kind-hearted but you’re not suited for a queen even now that I see it, Noah can never make a good Lycan King. The rigours of ruling over Alphas are not simple and one must always never break one rule...".
"What are you trying to say?" I pursued my lips, trying to gauge his intentions.
"Noah thinks you’re sweet, charming, maybe a bit set in your ways but I know you’ve come for revenge, Selene Thorne. Strangely, a woman after being wrongly offended would move on and live as though nothing happened and I sensed this because I know we did you a lot of displeasure when you were still married to my grandson Xavier,".
"Yes, you all did," I said with a ghost smile on my lips "And at a point, I was so angry with every member of your family but what can I do except be angry? I have no parents to support me and no one by my side,".
"Is that why you married my son, Noah?" The Grand Lycan’s eyes shone with confusion "That is the reason why you married Noah... for support? You think you can make him turn against his family?"
My heart jumped to my throat at the Grand Lycan’s near speculation of what my true intentions were. Shaking my head, I squared my shoulders and faced him "You’re mistaken, your majesty. I married Noah for security. He has power over you all and that means I would never be maltreated.
