"That was intense!" Kragen’s voice boomed from behind me making me jerk with surprise "The Carrell family is even more intense than they seem. Can you imagine that whole information?"
"Tell me about it," I sighed "Did you know about Noah’s mom by the way? I mean, it’s just so hard to believe that his mom is human no wonder he doesn’t like to talk about her and then to think Nora is his step-sister figures their strained relationship. Anyways, enough talk about the Carrells, how are the girls?"
"They’re fine and they’re having a great time with their dad. Xavier is an amazing father and I had to say this, I’m beginning to like him somewhat,".
"You like Xavier?" I snorted "That’s news to me. I thought you always hated him. What changed? What good deed did he do all of a sudden that made you look at him differently?"
"Just the way he takes care of the girls," Kragen shrugged "I know you miss them so much but believe me, with them at Greyhound, it’ll be easier for you to wrap up a lot of things on this front and it’s closer than before, Selene. "I should be," I sighed "More anxious, heartburns, I pee at least 40 times a day now and I had to make a conscious effort to stop drinking water. Plus, I eat like a horse and don’t forget about how foggy my brain gets sometimes. I was looking for a pen in my hand yesterday for nearly an hour and that’s just the worst.
