Chapter 192: choosing your mistress
Selene POV
"Why?" I turned to Noah as my throat burned with tears "You’re always like this when it comes to your family. You believe they’re saints and would never want me to say anything about them. Do you know what I’ve had to endure because of them? The pains, the years of suffering...".
"And do you know what we’ve had to put up with just to have you in our family..." Nora murmured from behind her father.
"Shut up!" Noah thundered and turned to her, his eyes brimming with fury. "One more word from you and I’ll make sure you never set foot in Moon Whisper again,".
"What are you waiting for?" Nora walked up to him and stood in front of him, with a hand on her waist "It’ll be nothing compared to everything you’ve done to us since you married that bitch," Noah’s hands clenched beside him. Nora must have noticed it because she drew closer to him, a sneer on her face. "Go ahead and hit me Noah...go ahead and hit your sister because of that woman and see if mother will ever forgive you,".
"Don’t you say a word about her!" Noah suddenly screeched startling me. Back when I was just working at Moon Whisper, talking about his mother has always been a sensitive topic for him. It was either he’ll wave it aside or he won’t make any comment on it. Back then, I used to think it was because she died or something and I’ll let it drop.
"What?" Nora threw her head backwards, cackling. "You’re still very much as sensitive you were whenever anyone calls her name. C’mon, stop clinging onto the past... mummy will never come back for you. Remember all those days when you’d try to run away to meet her and how she’d always have you returned back to the house...".
"Nora!" the Grand Lycan warned from behind. "That’s enough,".
"No!" Nora turned to the Grand Lycan, a vicious look on her face "That’s all I’ve ever had since I began to hear and talk. Nora, don’t do this, Nora stops, Nora, you should be this way, Nora this and Nora that but that is going to change around her. The earlier you agree that Noah is a failure just like his mom, the better for all of us. The nerves for him to think he can override me just because he’s the Lycan King... when it should be me..." Nora’s voice broke as she trailed off.
