Chapter 244: Iris Panicked!
Lucian almost choked hearing Xiu’s words. Earlier, he thought Xiu would be angry if he knew that the Demon King was still alive, but it looked like he was the one who helped The Demon King to rise again.
He was already suspicious because it seemed impossible for the Demon King to escape death after Xavier killed him.
But now, he was confused. Why did God purposefully set his two sons against each other for Lady Iris? And what consequences would the Lower Realm face if they fought again?
"M-Milord," Lucian stammered nervously, envisioning chaos in this lower realm if the two powerful entities clashed.
Xiu sensed Lucian’s fear. "Why do you look so shocked, Lucian?"
"Milord, I just feel concerned that this lower realm will be destroyed if Lord Xavier and The Demon King fight," Lucian expressed concern for the innocent humans in this world.
Even though Lucian didn’t have a strong bond with humans in this realm, having lived here for so long, he felt a sense of pity towards them. The thought that this beautiful land would be destroyed and the lives of innocent people would be lost disturbed him greatly.
"You don’t have to worry about that, Lucian," Xiu replied, glancing at Xavier, still unconscious on the ground. "Your priority now is to take him back home. Ensure his wife isn’t suspicious of me. You only need to inform her I’m Xavier’s friend. I’ll handle the rest..."
Excitement filled Xiu as he clasped his hands, eager to meet Iris again. He gestured for Lucian to hasten before swiftly disappearing from his spot.
Later, both Xiu and Lucian reappeared in the front yard. Silently, they proceeded toward the main door.
Lucian effortlessly carried Xavier on his shoulder. Yet, something puzzled him as he followed Xiu, who walked a few steps ahead. He knew Xiu could awaken Xavier, but now, he seemed unconcerned. It makes him curious.
