Chapter 245: Promise Me, Never Leave Me!
"X-Xavier, are you awake?" Iris stammered, filled with happiness. Finally, Xavier opened his eyes.
However, seeing Xavier’s eyes turn crimson worried her. She knew when his eyes turned crimson, it meant his killing intent arose. Someone flared his anger.
Who?
This bothers her much. She slowly raised her hand and touched his pale cheek while locking her gaze on him, trying to find a gentle trace; however, she found nothing.
"Xavier, are you alright? Why, you look at me that way, huh!?" She had never seen this kind of expression from him; he looked angry, but at the same time, he looked vulnerable.
Xavier smiled weakly at her, but his smile felt forced since it didn’t reach his eyes. He raised his hand slowly and took hers, gently kissing it. "I’m fine," he said, then sat beside her.
"Please don’t hide anything from me, Xavier. I know something happens to you..." She doubts his words. How could he be fine when he slept peacefully like before?
Iris added when he saw him smile faintly but said nothing, "—You will not allow Lucian to carry you like before, and... how could you sleep like a human?"
Xavier was stunned to hear that Lucian was carrying him. He remembers Lucian was already gone when he talked to his father.
