Chapter 20: Sweet Talk With Ex-Fiance
Victoria’s guess was right. Her trick to make Matthias jealous finally worked. Although Matthias did not show his jealousy openly, if she looks at his body language it shows that he is jealous. His right hand is tightly clenched and his eyebrows are lowered, it certainly indicates that Matthias is a little hurt because he heard his woman communicating with another man early in the morning. Moreover, the tone of the woman he loves is very sweet, while every time he talks to her she is always curt.
Since she managed to make Matthias angry in the morning, she wanted to continue the conversation with Ansel over the phone.
"By the way, what are you doing now?" Victoria asked in a sweet tone.
"I’m imagining you right now. Hearing you miss me so much earlier, I actually want to come to you, hug you, kiss you. But all of those things can only be done in my mind."
Victoria widened her smile happily as she looked at her husband who looked away. Seeing her husband getting angrier, she now felt a little guilty. Had she been overreacting earlier? Should she also clear up all these misunderstandings so that Ansel wouldn’t treat her too badly?
"Thank you for missing me, Ansel. If my husband heard all you said, he would never forgive you."
"Does he treat you well? He doesn’t abuse you, right?"
"Of course. He is very kind to me. Thank you for your concern, but from now on I will focus on my married life."
"Okay, if anything happens to you. You must call me. Don’t let yourself be tortured by your own husband!"
