The Emperor's Omega Is An Extra

Chapter 225: Game One (5)

Arren didn’t expect Ms. M to be an old woman who appeared to be much older than Duke Merphen, the oldest Duke in the empire. So the reason why even Spade was respectful in addressing her was this: she might even be the oldest agent in Black Intel, although she had probably retired.

He only stood at his position at the doorstep while staring at Ms. M, and eventually, she opened her eyes, and their eyes instantly met. Arren froze, not knowing what was the more appropriate action if he should greet her first or approach her and then greet her.

Before he could decide what to do, Ms. M had already stood, bowed slightly at him, and calmly greeted him.

"It’s nice to meet you, Young Master Arren." Her elderly voice seemed to have a soothing effect, naturally giving Arren the impression of being close to her. Arren’s brow lifted.

He knew from some stories before that some betas could indeed neutralize the pheromones of alphas and omegas. However, a rare case from them was those betas who have the ability to radiate a calming effect by their presence alone, making them the perfect counselor or psychiatrist.

Arren never thought he would meet one here. But he didn’t think further of it and snapped out of his thoughts. It was rude to make someone wait, especially the elderly, no matter how different their status was.

"Hello, ma’am." He also gave a respectful greeting. As someone who gained Spade’s trust, perhaps, Arren could try.

For the first part, after greeting each other and Arren sitting in front of the old woman, they remained silent and didn’t start right away. Arren was a social butterfly, and he wasn’t shy about having a conversation with strangers, but this situation was different.

All of this was new to him. And this old woman before him was no ordinary stranger that he could have a chitchat with. Arren was also nervous, and he only waited for her to start talking about what they had to do or talk about. Even if Spade said it was only a conversation and Arren could choose to treat it as is until the very end, Arren was aware that this was still a treatment for his mental state.

"Do you like tea, Young Master Arren?" Ms. M asked, her kind voice somehow alleviating the anxiety in Arren’s heart.

"I don’t hate it," Arren answered, but realizing he was a bit stiff, he composed himself and smiled. "I prefer coffee," he hastily added.
