The Emperor's Omega Is An Extra

Chapter 224: Game One (4)

Arren glanced at his alpha, his heart wrenching in pain for him. He couldn’t even imagine how he would react if his beloved father suddenly asked him the same question in the future.

"I’m sorry." Amidst the painful silence, Levin’s voice reverberated, evident guilt filling in his tone. Although none of this was his fault, for him, his parents were indeed in the wrong, and it wouldn’t be farfetched for their son to apologize on their behalf.

However, an apology wasn’t the best solution for everyone, certainly not in their current situation.

Spade remained leaning on his table, shutting his eyes, and didn’t respond to Levin. Arren slightly glanced at Levin, meeting his guilty gaze.

Arren exhaled and nodded to him. He honestly didn’t know how to act with Levin after knowing that his father was the leader of the organization that was desperate to capture him for some baffling reason relating to him being the key.

When he saw how miserable the alpha was, these uncomfortable thoughts dissipated instantly. Levin was not to blame for all the things that his parents had done. Arren disagreed with Empress Liviera, even if he understood his feelings. Being the son of murderers doesn’t necessarily mean he is also of the same kind.

For all the years they’ve been apart, Levin has failed to be influenced by their ideals.

Levin also seemed to pause after they made eye contact, and Arren nodded at him. For Arren, the alpha was also apologetic and had not said a word other than a greeting earlier. Arren thought it was because of his family, but now he knew it was mostly because of his father.

Arren scooted closer to Spade and held his hand, clutching them tightly. He didn’t care if there was someone in the room; he wanted to comfort his alpha.

After a while, Spade, who had his eyes closed as though contemplating something but was shrouded in gloom, opened his eyes. He immediately gazed at Levin, but his hand gripped Arren’s hand and interlocked with his. A gesture that didn’t need words.

"Don’t think too much of what happened. You need to focus on your mission first," Spade said, reminding him that while it was tough, he still had to do something important, and being distracted could only lead to failure.
