Chapter 226: Game One (6)
The surprise raid by the agents and authorities started simultaneously, garnering attention from the citizens no matter how they tried to keep the commotion smaller.
As the teams emerged and showed themselves, some nobles still wanted to retaliate, but after knowing that this was the order of the emperor, all of them knew that they had been discovered and only wanted to escape.
However, the majority of the targeted noble spies on the list were captured quite easily, and the agents managed to secure them. These were the disposable spies in the eyes of the organization, and they weren’t alerted to the upcoming raid.
And a few of the noble spies had now started to fight back in their teams; these were those who might already have high authority in the organization.
"Is it starting?" Spade asked, as soon as he entered the room and sat in his seat. From the beginning, he already anticipated that some of the nobles would retaliate against their forces, and they were prepared to come to the battlefield.
His voice echoed across the room, and he became the center of attention instantly.
Ace, who was acting Levin’s role as the Chief Guard as the latter had a mission of his own, stood up and saluted before answering his question.
"Yes, Your Majesty." He then handed the earpiece to Spade, "As of now, there are only three nobles who fought back against our forces." Ace then informed Spade of the names and titles of the three nobles.
Spade took the earpiece and wore it. He crossed his legs and faced the big monitors in front, which were playing what was happening on the battlefield. A few drones were dispatched, and together with full control of all the CCTVs in the domains, they had a vision of almost every area in the empire.
"Heh, left faction." Spade sneered and spoke in a deadpan tone, as though already judging this verdict on them in his mind. It seemed Duke Merphen had indeed cultivated quite a few traitors in his ranks.
While watching the monitors, his eyelids moved, and he focused on one battlefield. "What about Duke Merphen’s mansion?"
