Chapter 192: Wake Up
Arren watched Spade sleep for about an hour, observing his condition and even occasionally touching his forehead as he embraced the alpha. Fortunately, Spade really slept peacefully this time and did not just close his eyes.
He stayed like that because he was still guarding against something unexpected. Arren wasn’t sure if the alpha could also have a nightmare during his fever, as he always did, especially with the problems that were in Spade’s mind.
Only after an hour, when the alpha was really only sleeping, could Arren finally sigh in relief. However, he also wasn’t sleepy yet. He decided to bring back the plates first in the kitchen after making sure that Spade was still sleeping soundly.
Arren successfully got up from the bed without waking up the alpha, and with the tray in his hand, he left the room and hurriedly made his way to the kitchen.
It was already midnight, and the Katz Mansion was supposed to be in its evening tranquility, but almost the whole mansion was still brightly lit. As he stepped through the stairs, Arren noticed that it was really bustling with more activity than usual.
There were still servants awake, and the royal guards were more alert and in their best positions. He knew the reason without asking them; not only was the monarch staying in the mansion, but he was even sick, so it was normal.
They noticed him climbing down the stairs, and aside from someone who approached him to take the tray from his hand, no one really bothered him. He nodded, they were indeed elites.
He didn’t even notice them for long as his eyes immediately landed on the man sitting in the living room, it was his father.
"Dad," he called softly as he stepped closer to the Duke. Arren wasn’t really surprised to see that his father was still awake at this time. Duke Katz acknowledged him by glancing and nodding his head at him.
Arren already noticed that before his father, two people sat with him: Mr.Ivo and Rave. It seemed there was also a late-night meeting happening in the living room.
He didn’t want to leave Spade for too long, as he didn’t know the alpha could sense when his presence was gone. However, he still wanted to lighten the mood between them. After all, the two were their guests.
