Chapter 98: Prelude Of Chaos (3)
While holding the rifle in his right hand, he started walking in the direction where their fight was taking place. He was silent, and the calm expression had returned to his face.
Of course, just because he might have been holding a gun, that didn’t mean Spade would rashly enter and fight together with his subordinates. He might be furious, but he was still rational and could control his urges and anger.
Letting the anger through his head was something he wouldn’t do unless he really was put in the corner. He wasn’t in that desperate situation yet.
Everyone could only follow him, but they became more alert than ever. It was like the hearts of everyone nearly escaped from their chests the moment Spade snatched a gun and thought the Emperor would suddenly rush in and respond with gunfire to their enemies. Fortunately, it seemed that wasn’t the case.
Spade wasn’t bothered by what his subordinates were thinking and kept his pace; there weren’t any establishments open on their way. It even appeared to be an abandoned city at a glance, in complete contrast to the other directions where people were being evacuated.
And once he was already at the railings and overlooking the highway below, Spade stopped, and he could witness the intense gunfire that both parties aimed at each other.
His dark amber eyes fixed his focus on them and watched everything unfold. He knew that they were at an advantage because they were prepared, but he just couldn’t calm down. He fiddled and grasped the rifle in his hand, lost in his thoughts.
Spade didn’t know where the uneasiness was coming from. He lifted his head and roamed his eyes around, first from below, then turning around to look behind him. Nothing was on there; the royal guards around him were still in their positions, guarding him and ready for any fight that might arise any minute.
Despite his calm appearance on the outside, Spade was extremely uneasy inside. Was he missing something or simply overthinking? His eyes flashed with an ominous glint before shifting his gaze back below.
