Chapter 99: Another Attempt
The man’s laughter stopped, and he appeared to be attempting to breathe, but he couldn’t. It was as though someone was strangling his neck, giving the illusion that he was about to die.
Spade didn’t remove the force on his foot or his pheromones aimed at the man; he didn’t feel any pity toward him.
If no one knew better, the man was really close to dying, as he appeared extremely defenseless at the moment. With difficulty, the man managed to utter a name to answer Spade. However, it was already enough to make his reason leave him, as his face changed considerably.
"Katz..." he coughed and continued, already in a daze and about to be unconscious, "Arren Katz..." the man continued painfully, and before finishing, he had already fainted.
Spade didn’t bother anymore about this, as he had already become anxious and almost cursed out loud. So this was the reason for his uneasiness earlier.
He tried to calm down, even though he couldn’t manage to do so completely. Spade turned around and muttered an order; the urgency and madness were suppressed, yet they were still visible.
"Tell them to set out immediately; take away Arren in the Capital Square immediately," he ordered, almost yelling each word. He also contacted the leader, who was there to ensure Arren’s safety.
Spade had already turned around and was walking towards their cars; the others followed him, while the others would be left to continue the operation and clean up the matter.
"Where are you?" he asked after hearing the greeting on the other side, without any small talk as he didn’t have any time for that. "Leave the square with Arre immediately! Make sure that you have enough manpower—no, I’ll let another group assist and come there in your position. Remember, leave immediately and ensure Arren’s safety. I’ll also head there with Chief Levin and the others."
