Chapter 328: Recognition
Rain’s gaze shot to his face just in time to see his eyelids flicker. Slowly, hesitantly, his eyes opened.
"Oh my God!" Rain exclaimed, her voice trembling with a mix of joy and disbelief. Without wasting a second, she reached out and pushed the emergency button.
Within moments, the door burst open, and a team of doctors and nurses rushed into the room. Rain stepped aside, her eyes never leaving Alexander. Tears of relief streamed down her cheeks as the medical staff quickly assessed his condition.
"He moved... he opened his eyes," she whispered to herself, her heart pounding as hope surged through her like never before.
At that moment, nothing mattered to Rain but the fact that her husband was finally awake. Her heart raced as she stared at him, barely daring to blink for fear that it was all just a dream or a cruel hallucination. Yet, the faint flicker of life in his eyes was undeniable.
"Thank you, God," she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. Inside, she kept praising and thanking Him for granting her prayers, for showing mercy, and for bringing Alexander back to her.
She bit her lower lip, trying to steady her breathing, her hands clasped tightly together as they fidgeted. The waiting felt eternal as the medical team busily assessed Alexander’s condition, their focused expressions giving nothing away. Rain’s eyes darted between them and her husband, her heart pounding in anticipation.
Dr. Lambert stepped closer to the bed, "Alexander, I’ll perform a quick check to assess your condition."
He turned to the nurse beside him, who handed him a penlight. "Xander, I’m going to check your pupil response. Look straight at me." He clicked on the penlight and shined it into each of Alexander’s eyes, observing their reaction. "Good. Pupils are reactive and equal."
