Chapter 329: A Bad Dream
Alexander turned his head slightly, his eyes narrowing in concentration. "I’m sorry, but I don’t remember... I don’t remember you."
The words struck her like a blow. She fought to hold back the tears, not wanting him to see her break down. "It’s okay," she said, her voice barely audible. "We’ll figure it out together."
Dr. Lambert glanced at Rain, noting her distress, but he kept his focus on Alexander. "It’s normal, Xander," he said gently. "You’ve been through a lot. Your memory might take time to come back. We’ll give you all the time you need."
Alexander looked at the doctor, then back at Rain, still struggling with his confusion. He seemed lost, as if trying to make sense of the world around him. "But... how did I get here? What happened to me? Where’s my father, and... William? Where are they?"
Rain’s heart twisted. He doesn’t remember anything, she thought, her chest tightening with a sense of helplessness. "They’ll be here soon," she whispered, hoping her voice would offer him some comfort, though the fear in her heart made it hard to believe her own words.
Moments later, the door to the room burst open, and a wave of family entered... William, Father Rock, Aunt Vernice, Sanya, Uncle Ben, and Aunt Melanie. Their faces were a mixture of relief and overwhelming emotion.
"Brother!" William cried, rushing to Alexander’s side and wrapping him in a tight hug, tears streaming down his face. "You’re really awake! Oh my God!"
"Son." Father Rock followed, pulling Alexander into a firm embrace, his voice trembling with emotion. "You’ve come back to us."
Alexander blinked at them, his brow furrowing as though trying to piece together the faces and voices surrounding him. "Dad? William?" he muttered. "You’re here. But... what’s going on? What happened to me?"
