Chapter 1374: Are You Out of Your Mind?
There’s no meaning if it’s not genuine concern from his heart.
"You eat first, then I’ll leave." Matthew Saxon sat still, his hand placed under her gaze remained unmoved.
"I’ve said it, I’ll take the medicine, you don’t need to stay here." She hated this kind of pretentious care.
Matthew Saxon frowned slightly: "Scarlett Yates, I’ll say it once more, I want to watch you take the medicine."
"If you don’t want to see me and feel like I’m an eyesore, then hurry up and take the medicine. Once you’re finished, I’ll naturally leave." He never cared for any woman like this, nor stayed thick-skinned when faced with disdainful expressions.
All of this is not something Matthew Saxon would do.
Yet he broke the rules and did so much, but the other party didn’t appreciate it at all.
This damned woman doesn’t know what’s good for her; he should have just left her and not cared.
Anyway, someone will get a doctor for her, and there’ll be people by her side to take care of her. Whether he likes her or not, she is the Young Madam of the Saxon Family, and it won’t come to the neglect of being ignored.
Her status is laid out there.
No matter his attitude, the people below wouldn’t dare to truly ignore and neglect her.
They had just reached an agreement not long ago, agreeing to live separately and not interfere with each other.
So what if she’s sick?
According to their agreement, he doesn’t need to personally intervene, even if it’s just surface-level, a doctor has been called for her, and he has visited her, which is already giving her enough respect.
Thus, he doesn’t need to personally ensure she takes the medicine.
He doesn’t know why he’s still here enduring her indifference and disdain.
Suddenly, Scarlett Yates erupted.
She abruptly raised her head, clenching her lips tightly with eyes blazing in anger, her tone was sharp: "Matthew Saxon, are you crazy? What do you mean by this?"
"One moment you’re cold, the next you’re warm, sometimes indifferent, other times seemingly caring a lot about me—do you think this back and forth is amusing?"
"Or do you think that you lowering yourself to care for me should make me grateful, regardless of what you’ve done or said before, I shouldn’t mind, or else I’m being ignorant and ungrateful?"
She shouted these few sentences.
After a high fever, her voice was hoarse, and therefore her shouting was low and raspy, but the tension was unmistakably strong.
Matthew Saxon was dumbfounded by her shouting.
It took him a few seconds to realize his goodwill wasn’t accepted and instead led to being scolded.
Never in his life had he been scolded like this by anyone.
Never from childhood to adulthood.
For a moment, his pride was hard to maintain.
His handsome face showed some darkness immediately, lips pressed tight, and the open palm gradually clenched into a fist.
The small pills in his palm were crushed into a few pieces.
"Scarlett Yates, I came to see you in good faith, and this is the attitude?" The proud and arrogant Second Young Master Saxon was angry, the fire in his narrow enticing eyes was blazing, adding a hint of fury.
He fixed his gaze on Scarlett Yates, his cold voice came from his pursed lips: "Then what do you wish for me to do? If I do nothing and completely ignore it, would you then call me cold-blooded and heartless?"
