Chapter 191: Pregnant
The day went on pretty well with no disturbance as each and every member of the big 5, including the Huang elders made their way to the Yang mansion. The Yang elders seemed to be the happiest as the mansion seemed to be lively with the presence of everyone.
The members sat around chatting amongst themselves as all of them waited for Chloe who was the reason for this meet-up. Before the elders could say anything, Chloe and Ryan finally arrived hand in hand, all smiles. No one seemed shocked seeing the two anymore since they had all heard about their story but rather, they all wore looks of pride especially the elders, seeing their children finally settling down.. that is the dream of any parent and seing it coming true, the elders couldn’t help but thank heavens for this blessing.
Jane looked at the two and could roughly guess what today was going to be about but of course she wasn’t going to say a thing and let the couple have their spotlight tonight.
After greeting everyone, they all headed to the dining room where different meals were arranged and upon seeing this, everyone’s appetite immediately knocked in as they all sat in their respective places. As soon as everyone had sat down, Chloe stood up attracting everyone’s attention.
"I know all these was abrupt but Uumm.. I have a special announcement but before that, I’d like to thank both the Lu and Yang elders because your matchmaking plans on both Ryan and I did more than just working.. " She started her speech and as soon as everyone heard this, they started clapping as the elders wore a pleasant and proud look on their faces. Upon hearing his name being mentioned, Ryan stood alongside Chloe who seemed nervous because the time to announce her pregnancy was here.
Ryan noticed her nervousness and lightly squeezed her hands to encourage her. "For the important announcement I had for all of us..." Chloe started off but didn’t know how to finally announce it, seeing everyone’s eager look. Ryan noticed and decided to make it unique. He pushed their chairs aside, surprising the whole family but they just watched instead of questioning.
The man got on his knees and they all thought he was going to propose but what he did next shocked them. He gently touched Chloe’s stomach and leaned in, placing a kiss on her stomach, wearing a proud look, more than a proud look in fact.
Grandma Yang’s eyes widened in shock because she seemed to be the first one to immediately connect the dots. "Chloe...my darling granddaughter.. you... " She said pointing at Chloe’s stomach, her eyes shining and her voice shaking, bringing the whole family back to reality but the shock in their eyes couldn’t be underestimated.
Chloe finally looked at her grandma, her grandpa, the Lu elders, everyone else before she finally answered, confirming her pregnancy. "Yes grandma.. right here is a product of our love... the first heir of the Lu family and your great grandchild." She calmly said but the minute she finished, squeals were heard as Mother Lu and Mother Yang stood and started spinning around like fan girls. "Iam a grandma!!!" The two repeated the words as everyone stood up heading towards Chloe’s direction but as respect they all let the elders congratulate the couple first.
