Chapter 47 - Forty-One
LEO
A soft clicking sound breaks my deep slumber. I blink a few times to focus on my surroundings and squint as the direct sunlight hits my sensitive eyes. I wake up in a heart warming embrace and in the scent of Erwin. His hand is tightly enveloping me in a protective hug and his chest slowly rising and falling as he breathes in a slow pace.
I raise my head from his chest to see where the camera clicking sound is coming from. Scrutinizing, I catch John’s one is clamped over his mouth, preventing from laughing as his upper face burns brightly because of it and on his other hand is his phone, his fingers tapping away at the screen. Meanwhile Ruth is standing in a corner silently, his face changing colors like a rainbow, not-so happy about the whole situation. There is a nurse in the cabin other than these two, who is doing her job with a pleasant smile on her flat face, occasionally shooting us an envious glance.
My head droops, a headache already blooming between my brows. "What are you guys doing here this early in the morning?"
"It’s 11 in the morning your majesty." Ruth snips sarcastically. Then changes his expression and tone, "How are you doing now? Did you wake up in the middle of the night once?"
Here we go with his health bullshit again. I roll my eyes mentally.
Well, but he has a point. Another voice inside protests.
"Hmm." I nod in affirmation.
"Why didn’t you call anyone then?" Ruth raises an eyebrow.
"Stop with that, Ruth." John chides as he nudges my best friend with his elbow, "They needed a bit of personal space for themselves. Why are you interrogating Leo like this?"
Thank you, John! I will treat you to dinner for this!
