Endless World: The Rise of Leonard Lawson

Chapter 264: Amelia’s Role

Shortly after Amelia’s introduction, both Leonard and Mirelle raised an eyebrow.

"You sure know how to bring a servant." Mirelle glanced at Amelia up and down.

One could easily tell how alluring Amelia’s appearance and physique were.

"I’m not even going to bother." Leonard shook his head. Even if he wanted to explain, nobody would believe him anyway.

A prestigious noble status?

Just bringing a female servant to the academy?

They would be damned if they believed the servant wasn’t a bed warmer instead.

Naturally, Mirelle didn’t believe Leonard was the type to indulge himself in lust. Otherwise, he would have long made a move toward her.

She didn’t want to brag, but her appearance was considered above average.

How many people wanted to court her?

Too many to count!

Not only was she a powerful Mage, but she also had a very influential mentor as background. As if that wasn’t enough, her graceful personality on top of her beauty was more than qualified to marry into anyone without a problem.

Unfortunately, all of these positive traits seemed to have meant nothing to Leonard.

’Am I really lacking in attraction?’ Mirelle couldn’t help but question her charm.

Of course, she would never ask Leonard directly how he perceived her.

"Anyway, what time do we have to be at the academy?" Leonard asked.

"It should start in about an hour from now," Mirelle answered. "As the guest instructor, I would have to be there in half an hour."

"Is there anything else that I need to keep in mind?"

"Try not to cause any scene?"

"Now, why would I cause a scene as the Crown Prince of Aldros?"

Mirelle narrowed her eyes. She then pointed at another set of clothes near the bed. "Then can you explain why you have another academy uniform over there?"

Although the majority of the academy uniform was similar, there was a slight difference for those with special status and identity. As much as they strived for equality, certain individuals still needed to be paid attention to.

After all, any harm that was brought to these special status students could potentially jeopardize the world’s balance.

"Oh, when did that get there?" Leonard feigned ignorance and acted surprised.

"Did the academy make a logistical mistake and send me two different sets?"

"..."

Mirelle twitched her brows at his clear, terrible acting skill.

As for Amelia, she kept quiet and held a stoic expression on her face. She might be talented, but her status was still that of a servant. She had no right to react, much less discuss the Crown Prince’s action.

"Seriously, are you really going to make a scene?" Mirelle frowned and asked again.

"I won’t if it’s not necessary." Leonard smiled calmly. As if afraid she would misunderstand, he approached her and whispered. "The so-called equality that you so desperately seek. Do you think you alone can ensure equality is present?"

Her pupils quickly constricted. As much as she wanted to argue that she would ensure everyone was equal, the truth was that she was already struggling.

Take a look at the two different academy uniforms.

If there was truly equality, then why was there a need for two types of uniforms?

They could all wear the same one, such as a singular gender neutral uniform where both females and males could wear.

"I’m a man of my word. Since you have been a great help, I will fulfill my end." He continued, reminding her of their deal.

Mirelle was rendered speechless. Truth be told, she was certain that he might have forgotten about the deal. Moreover, she hadn’t done much on her end.

Almost as if Leonard could read her thoughts, he calmly said, "You might think you didn’t contribute much, but that’s your opinion. My opinion and thoughts are the only thing that matters."

Unable to refute him further, she could only lower her head and nod. "Then I shall give my thanks."

Shortly afterward, she left the room in a hurry. Even though there was still some time to spare before she had to arrive at the academy, she no longer dared to remain in the room.

Her face was burning red, unsure whether it was from shame or some other emotion.

Leonard also didn’t stop her because he had to ponder what to do.

"Hmm, if I act like a tyrant, would that incur the wrath of many?" He muttered.

"I believe nobody would call you out."

"Whoa!" Leonard turned around and noticed Amelia was still standing near the door. "Forgot you are still here."

Since he was used to everyone leaving the room by routine, he didn’t anticipate Amelia to still be present.

Not to mention, her presence seemed to be very low despite the fact that he was staring straight at her.

If anything, she reminded him of Logan and those from the Crimson Veil Division.

"Anyway, what do you mean by that nobody would call me out?" He asked curiously.

"With all due respect, Crown Prince. We’re at the heart of the Valdoria Continent, dominated by the Aldros Empire. And you are the Crown Prince of Aldros, the next in line to rule the empire. To offend you is equivalent to becoming an enemy of the Valodria Continent." Amelia explained.

"Oh, is that why you won’t be seeking revenge on me in the short term?"

"Huh?"

Her expression changed slightly, clearly having been caught off-guard by the tone.

"Your name is Amelia, right. If my memory serves me right, you have a close relationship with Bea, who more or less lost her life because of me."

"..."

Amelia raised an eyebrow. ’The rumors claimed the Crown Prince is incompetent. How laughable was that?’

She doubted Spencer and Seth had exposed her identity to him either.

"Does the Crown Prince wish to switch servants or silence me instead?"

"None," Leonard snickered. "Since you were assigned to me, you most likely are some bait. And I doubt you’re foolish enough to not know that either."

Amelia nodded her head in agreement. "I know my position and role."
