Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law

Chapter 865 - 861: The Affection of Three Men (Part 1)

Twick Shoe Factory

In the spacious General Manager's Office, Charles Colson leaned back on the sofa, his expression cold and distant, as he held his phone to his ear, speaking softly to someone.

A steaming cup of coffee was placed in front of him.

Not long after, he ended the call, sighed lightly, and casually placed the phone on the sofa.

Raising his hand, he rubbed his aching nose bridge.

A moment later, he stood up from the sofa, grabbed his phone, and strode out of the office.

Ten minutes later, his car drove out of the factory.

In the hospital, Crystal Sanders lay alone on the hospital bed, her delicate face faintly marked with tear stains.

The infusion had ended, and now she just needed to rest in bed.

In her ward, besides her and the television that was on, there was no one else.

Joseph Colson had left.

Came in a hurry, left in a hurry.

She felt an indescribable feeling in her heart.

She felt that she was no longer important to Joseph Colson.

As soon as Camila Ruiz left, Joseph Colson followed suit; he didn't even tell her where he was going. Before leaving, he used a complex gaze to stare at her belly and said in an inscrutable tone, "Crystal, you've also learned to betray me."

She understood what he meant.

He must be angry that she hadn't followed his demand to abort the child.

Touching her flat belly, the child almost got lost. She had saved it with great effort, and she didn't want to lose it again. Whether Joseph Colson wanted it or not, she was determined to give birth to the child, preferring to be a single mother than to terminate a life. Perhaps, her fate with Joseph Colson had ended; she saw it in his eyes that Joseph Colson had set his sights on Camila Ruiz.

If Joseph Colson succeeded, Camila Ruiz would become the mistress of the Colson Family, and she, an orphan with no power, position, or background, could only pass through Joseph Colson's life as a fleeting encounter.

A knock on the door brought Crystal out of her thoughts.

The ward door was then pushed open.

A man she hadn't met but also wasn't unfamiliar with, Charles Colson, walked in.

Charles Colson held a bouquet of fresh flowers.

Seeing Charles Colson enter, Crystal was somewhat surprised. She carefully sat up, leaned against the hospital bed, and stared blankly at Charles Colson as he placed the bouquet on her bedside table, coldly asking, "Are you alright?"

For so many years, Charles Colson had always avoided Joseph Colson, not wanting to clash with him, but Joseph Colson wouldn't spare him, always seizing the opportunity to strike. In the end, Charles Colson had to investigate Joseph Colson's affairs, thereby discovering Crystal's existence.

Crystal was actually quite important to Joseph Colson.

Crystal's presence here indicated that Joseph Colson would be here as well.

"Thanks for asking, I'm fine."

"And him?" Charles Colson glanced around the ward and asked coldly.

"Left."

"Left?"

Charles Colson raised an eyebrow, was his ruthless elder brother really going to ignore Crystal being hospitalized?

"Miss Ruiz sent me to the hospital, and after she left, he followed. Second Young Master, I think..." Crystal suddenly hesitated, fear flashing across her beautiful face. She wanted to tell Charles Colson that Joseph Colson's intentions for visiting T City were impure, which would harm Charles and involve Camila Ruiz. Although meeting Camila Ruiz for the first time in person, she realized she liked women with Camila's personality and didn't want her to get hurt. Yet, she also deeply loved Joseph Colson and didn't want to ruin his plans, even though she knew she might be just a pawn in those plans.

Sometimes, some people's love is blind, only knowing to obey the one they love, protecting him, even if he does wrong, she would still protect him despite her conscience.

That was exactly Crystal's love for Joseph Colson.

She hesitated for a long time under Charles Colson's gaze but ultimately said nothing.

Joseph Colson was someone she not only loved and protected but also feared.

"Don't call me Second Young Master; the moment he kicked me out of the house, I ceased to be the Second Young Master. Camila sent you, what happened?" Hearing Camila's name, Charles Colson furrowed his brows. His informant hadn't mentioned Camila brought Crystal into the hospital, only saying Crystal was nearly hit by a car, frightened, and then sent to the hospital.

"It's my fault, I was distracted and almost hit Miss Ruiz's car..." Crystal didn't continue, recalling that moment still sent shivers down her spine.

If she died, it would be a death with two lives lost.

"Is Camila alright?" Charles Colson urgently asked.

Crystal raised her beautiful eyes to look at Charles Colson, her eyes filled with sorrow. Seeing Charles Colson's sudden urgency, she bitterly smiled but spoke with dual meanings, "Second Young Master, I think you'd better not care too much for Miss Ruiz, otherwise, the only person who'll get hurt is you." The more Charles cared for Camila, the more Joseph would use her to hurt Charles.

Charles Colson looked at her for a moment, his expression returning to normal, coldly saying, "I've disturbed you." Then he turned and left. He had come looking for Joseph, but it was a futile effort.

Knowing it was Camila who almost collided with Crystal, he now just wanted to head to Valence Group to see Camila. He needed to confirm whether Camila was injured, to ensure not a single hair was harmed.

Valence Group.

Thirty-second floor.

Camila Ruiz finally returned to normal, back to her usual busy schedule as a little assistant.

Her work was fragmented, doing a bit of everything, but she was used to it, having learned things from all the trivial tasks.

It took half an hour to print out all the materials a colleague needed. She organized them and left the office to hand them over to the colleague.

On the thirty-second floor, it was amusing like this.

Camila Ruiz, the all-around worker, had her own small office, while everyone else squeezed into the Plum Blossom Office.

Fortunately, although those colleagues liked to give Camila tasks, they didn't envy her treatment. The relationship was fairly good, especially among the young female colleagues who treated Camila better because by doing so, they had a chance to get closer to Ivan Horne.

"Camila, the CEO wants you in his office."

Just as Camila Ruiz was about to open her office door and enter, a voice from the secretary desk on the thirty-second floor came through like a witch's spell.

This little secretary was very spontaneous. Despite being as pretty as a flower, she was not pretentious, a bit lazy with a preference to sit rather than stand, and stand rather than walk. Ivan Horne was satisfied with her work capability and let her be, as long as everyone could bear it. Thus, she had just received a call from the CEO's secretary. Seeing Camila from afar, she was too lazy to move and instead raised her pitch to call out, spanning the great distance.
