Chapter 67: Vase
"Also, didn’t you see my mom got hurt too? Everyone knows who started it first. Let me tell you, if any of you dare say one more bad thing about my mom or lay a hand on her, I’ll fight you to the end!" Jessie clenched her fists, her eyes fierce as she took the knife from Laura’s hand and slammed it onto the table.
"William, I’ve told you before! If you dare lay a hand on me and push me to my limits, we will go down together! You forced me to become like this!" Laura’s heart had gone completely cold.
But no matter what, she wouldn’t let the Krut family bully her like this. If she continued to endure everything quietly, they would really think they could walk all over her.
"Alright, let’s have you both live separately for now. Everyone needs to calm down," Evelyn suggested as she pulled William away and left.
Jessie knew they couldn’t win the argument, so they left quickly.
After they were gone, Jessie sat down with Laura, looking at the red marks on her mom’s arm. Her eyes started to well up with tears.
"Mom, are you okay? You don’t need to suffer this injustice anymore; you should get a divorce. I can support you."
Her small shop was doing well, and she had enough savings to support Laura.
However, Jessie had just gotten married. Laura didn’t want to put too much pressure on her, and it wouldn’t be appropriate.
"Jessie, you don’t need to worry about me. I’ll definitely consider the divorce. What I’m worried about now is Luke’s custody. If I get divorced, they certainly won’t let me take Luke with me."
