Chapter 807 - 362: Interception
Shana said, "Since we’re heading to the safe house, let’s all go and play with a barrel of fuel for two hours."
Maya looked at Stone, and Stone nodded. Maya said, "Okay." Although fuel was scarce, their cars couldn’t operate in the snow during winter, and Snow Egg still managed to produce a barrel of fuel every day.
Just then, the system alarm went off. Someone had breached the base’s safety zone, prompting everyone to immediately set down their bowls and chopsticks and grab their backpacks to descend the stairs. Maya checked the electronic map and said, "Don’t shoot by mistake, it’s an NPC merchant."
The group met the NPC merchant as he headed for the rooftop. The indoor spaces were already occupied, which meant the commerce area could only be established on the rooftop. Accompanying the merchant were barely a dozen zombies, mainly because the main roads were clear of zombies and the surroundings had already been scavenged bare by the Shadows. The NPC had wound and turned several times, scarcely managing to bring this minor surprise.
The merchant had a fairly complete set of goods, including all the essential Skill Books. The currently active Life Skills were Little Knife’s Lichenology and Shana’s clothes making.
Shana’s clothes making was like a magic skill, a pity it hadn’t been upgraded. One couldn’t blame Shana, as upgrading clothes making required proficiency and wasted a lot of fabric. The current skill level could not produce clothes as good as those available for purchase with points during events.
Little Knife’s Lichenology was crucial for gathering herbs, which were needed to manufacture Serum injections, requiring auxiliary medicine, antibiotics, any herbal plants would do.
Moreover, Maya’s role as a general practitioner was merely for emergencies. As the living conditions worsened, a large base like theirs was in dire need of a dedicated doctor.
