Chapter 178: Not dead?
The morning light poured through the gauzy curtains of the bedroom, casting a soft, golden glow across the tangled sheets and the three bodies nestled together.
Ravene was lying on Brandon’s left, her head tucked into the crook of his shoulder, her arm draped across his chest.
Eira was on his right with her leg slung over his and her cheek resting on his arm.
Brandon stirred slowly, his eyes fluttering open as the sunlight teased at his senses.
He blinked against the light, his gaze drifting to the ceiling and he turned his head slightly, looking at Ravene and Eira.
Their faces were peaceful in sleep, Ravene’s lips slightly parted and Eira’s lashes casting delicate shadows on her cheeks.
Careful not to wake them, Brandon began to move.
He started with Ravene, gently lifting her arm from his chest, his fingers brushing against her soft skin as he eased it onto the mattress.
She stirred faintly, a soft hum escaping her lips, but her eyes remained closed.
Brandon leaned down, his lips brushing her forehead in a tender kiss and his hand trailed down, his fingers grazing the curve of her breast, giving it a gentle, affectionate squeeze.
"Sleep well..." he whispered a smile tugging at his lips as he watched her settle deeper into the pillows.
