Chapter 148: Don’t Anger My Queen
Pride has taken over the Western Queen. She knew at the back of her head that as a human being with morals, she should have fully acknowledged the West’s faults. Elys should not have brushed it off as something as casual as saying she did not care even if she knew.
But Queen Elysianne was full of pride.
She bit her lip and cast her eyes aside, her foolish self battling with her mind and heart. She knew she should have seen eye to eye with the Eastern adviser, but Elys’ words did not coincide with the truth.
Or at least she twisted it to the point it did not sound like truth anymore.
Sir Noa’s face turned blank. He was weighing his next options, knowing that anytime the Western King could read his mind and get ahead of him before his mouth could even utter a single word.
’Guess I will just have to tell everything, no holds barred,’ Sir Noa thought.
"Sir Noa, is it true what my husband had said? You wanted him to go to trial with you?" Elys asked, her brows raised in incredulity.
She and Aleksander’s reputation amongst the Western Kingdom was not great as of the moment. The balance between peace and an internal war was not too far ahead, and is hanging by a very thin thread.
One wrong move from them and the scales would tip to a drawback to their plans which were still beginning to sow itself within the Western Kingdom.
