Chapter 87: The Truth Part 3
"Then... you are the Northern Crown Princess?" Aleksander blurted out, his voice cracking at the end.
As much as he was thrilled to learn Elys was indeed a princess and not just a mere slave, the prince also recalled one thing he had done for the past weeks they were husband and wife – being a complete asshole.
"Why? Have you realized your own stupidity since the beginning?" Elys smirked. "What does it feel like? Is the taste of your own medicine sweet or bitter? Perhaps it’s vile, maybe even scalding?"
Aleksander’s eyes wandered away from Elys, a wave of emotions crashing over him.
He never gave much thought of his actions before, partly because he didn’t have much interaction with the rest of society. Except from Henry and his blood servants whom he could push over as much as he wanted, Aleksander didn’t give much care.
The bastard prince had been disconnected from everyone from a very young age that he basically had no one to teach him manners but himself. Sure, Henry was able to somehow keep him at bay when he was younger, but he was unstoppable when he turned legal.
Now that he was here beside the princess, Aleksander felt like all that he ever did were the wrong things.
Elys stared at the husband she didn’t want.
It was obvious he was conflicted with the clashing emotions he was surely feeling. Elys knew that the information she dropped must have been a shock to him. Aleksander was like an open book that the princess read with ease.
